I wouldn't say the problems people have been posting here are minimal. Ski had one if the best looking Apocs I've seen and he even had a small blemish in his pics. That type of issue I could live with. The majority of these statues have been really bad. Let's not pretend that this run has been consistent of a couple small blemishes guys. These issues have been on almost every single statue and they are worse then the average SS blemish

It looks like we are on different sides here James. I can respect that though. I did get one that was free of any major defects, but I do have some sloppy paint lines on his left bicep that are only visible in those pics I took, not with the naked eye. To me, that is not an issue. Everyone has their own criteria for judging these types of things though. :dunno

To paraphrase using your words, no one is pretending that this run has only had a couple small blemishes. There have been legitimate issues like the cracked paint and the moisture bubbles that are terrible and should be replaced. I am sure Sideshow will do just that in those cases. However, let's not jump to the point that almost every single statue has had issues. To put things in perspective let's remember that Apocalypse had an edition size of 750 for the EX alone. How many people have posted pics with "issues"? 20? 30? Assuming only the EX has been posted, that is a 4% defect rate (30/750) which while not great is also no where near "every single statue" having issues. Unless you meant out of the pics posted on here only? :peace

But Ski, this thread blew up last night when Sideshow told Joxprox his cracked bicep wasn't worthy of an exchange.

Also, just because there's 750 Ex doesn't mean all those owners are on here.
We actually have a very small percentace of SS collectors here.

@ski

Only going off of the ones we've actually seen and SS CS response to another board member whom had a gaping crack in his statue. The fact that they told him an exchange would most likely end with a replacement just as bad is an indicator of the other 700 plus exclusives

:exactly: That is my point. We have a very small sample size of statues with issues. That does not equate to every single statue.

Joeprox had two issues; cracked paint on bicep and scuff mark on rib area. Correct? Scuff mark would be a non-issue for me. The cracked paint on the bicep would be an issue for me if I could see it with the naked eye. Surprised SS said no replacements available for it.

Your my dude Ski but I'm going disagree. Samples and surveys are taken in every industry in the world from a small random pool to determine pertentages. Everyone reporting issues are from different cities, states, even countries. If you only use the data we have. Let's call it the freaks pool of samples the percentages are a heck of a lot higher then what your saying. More then likely these percentages hold true for the entire release. Unless these are from different factories or being released in batches. That could also change the outcome. Take the source material we have and your numbers are flopped the other way buddy

I'm just gonna throw it out there as a long shot but if anyone has an Apocalypse they're not happy with PM me and maybe we can make a trade with some cash. I don't need a whole thread in the WTB section But willing to help someone offload one :)

It's really unfortunate seeing a lot of the defects. My EX has minor paint defects on biceps. Nothing id complain about. He is not flush with the base though. Both heals of legs do not touch the base of stand and with the slightest touch will tip over. Is there a way to fix this?

If you're brave Dremel. I wouldn't
Contact SS and join the queue.

From 30/750 to a more likely 30/100 = 30%.

Where did you get 100 from? I used the edition size because it is the only definitive number one can use. Unless you go around polling every single Freak board member who bought Apocalypse and whether they had an issue or not, which is unrealistic if not downright impossible to do.

Statistics aside, Sideshow should have replaced JPs statue based on the cracked paint on the bicep. If I was him, I wouldn't take their first reply as the final reply and demand to talk to a manager and discuss the issue and provide additional pics if necessary to get a replacement. that response from SS just seemed like a standard boilerplate type response.

Just for information purposes, my Premium Format Sauron had moisture all inside the styrofoam container inside the plastic bags. The cape was soaked. However, there were no major paint issues or rust. Maybe a bit too much overspray and a few little imperfections. I called sideshow before I assembeled him to notify them of the water. Sideshow offered to replace him if there were any issues. After putting him together, everything seemed normal. Overall, I am very happy with him. He is a massive piece.
It was really wierd that there was so much water inside the box. The shipper showed no signs of water damage. It was very strange. I wonder if he was made in the same factory as Apoc. It seems to be condensation, but it would be a lot of condensation.
