I think he meant Bowen brown-noser :monkey1

I know that's what he was grasping for but it was stupid, we all like statues here it doesn't make us brown nosers or else this site would be called sideshowbuttnosers, It doesn't matter to me what company makes a statue, if it's good it's good I'm not a Bowen fanboy, I just happen to like a lot of their work too.

It's an old term we used to use back in the day, way before your time, guess you had to be there to get it. :pfft::lol

Mostly on the other forum though, never saw it here.

So I like to research charactors if I dont know much about him. I can't seem to find a cool story on him. Any recommendations?

I am not an X guy, but I remember Age of Apocalypse being good, but it is an alternate reality story line.... So maybe someone can recommend something from the 616 universe.

Apocalypse is a 1-dimensional type of character to me. I've seen him in x-men animation and some comics but I don't have to read a lot of him to know him. He's a villain through n through, either u like him or u don't. he's not like that flaky magneto who's a good, bad, or in between.

Apocalypse is the ultimate x-villain, and this sideshow statue is an awesome representation of him, it would be cool if they gave you like three switch out arms since he can form all kinds of guns and weapons with them.

I would be absolutely speechless...:thud:

good comics with apoc...there actually arent many. I would start with X-Factor 6, then 24 and 25 (first archangel). Age of apocalypse is great. Apocalypse "the twelve" was pretty good also. Other than that the cartoon from the 90's>his episodes were cool.

Don't know man, seems that they cut corners regarding fine detail for this beast. And I've been waiting a long time for this bastard.

Yeah he's big, muscles are huge, pose is good, but where are all the subtle details that Gore Group is known & loved for? Large muscle groups are well defined but lack the subtle detailed striations that would have made this a true masterpiece. Especially the legs, where they are depicted too smooth/soft, lacking tension. Even the veining on arms seem to be pasted on, lacking that refined look. Hell, even details in face sculpt seem a little crude.

Unlike the fine subtle details in the Deadpool, Gladiator Hulk, Galactus, & even Sinestro sculpts, Apocalypse just seems too basic, & somehow unfinished. Gonna real try & love this statue, cause SS ain't makin another anytime soon. Just feel that after this long waiting period, SS had all the time in the world to work out & add all the smaller details this character truly deserved.:dunno
