He was able to communicate with the sea, turning the creatures against his brothers soldiers, ride and command the Huge Mythic beast, and defeat his brother in combat.

Nope. He was defeated by his bro in combat and couldn't command the sea at that scale. Also that trident was way more powerful. Similar to Thors Hammer or Stormbreaker.

He could do it before the trident but at a much less controlling manner and not as fast. He needed the trident for you know who at the end.

I’m actually happy you brought up those specific battles and i’m sorry but I still give the nod to the IW Wakanda battle just because it had way more consequences attached to it.

IW can’t be touched simply because of the 10 year build up.

He couldnt control all the animals before the trident only some which is the whole point of this movie to go on the quest get the trident and stop the war with its power.
