I'm surprised that Aquaman is getting the IMAX treatment in my area and not Bumblebee or Mary Poppins.

My local just stopped IMAX showings for it and replaced it with Mary Poppins and Bumblebee.

Are you seeing it in IMAX Khev? You better do otherwise I'm telling jye about those TPM pyjamas you wear.

Yeah my Imax, Dolby and larger screens are being hogged by Poppins and Aquaman. Bumblebee in the smaller screens on opening day. Bummer.

Think about that for a second JAWS, JL made Batman a wuss and this movie made AM a bad ass!

Also AM in this movie a billion times better than AM in JL.

Anyways it was a great time at the movies with my wife and son!

2nd.. If there was not the awful attempt at the romance with the god awful acting and dialogue I may have thought AM was a bad ass.. Instead I just cringed and the action did nothing for me.

I'm telling you I think I am getting too old for this type of film. You better come at with great characters and really well done action.. Otherwise I check out.. It was not any better then a Transformers film IMO... Ok it was better then the last two and the 2nd one

I'm not gonna lie, JAWS comparing Blank Mantis to Dark Helmet didn't exactly make me want to see it less, lol. Because even if it's bad and I can laugh *at* it then that still counts as a good time, lol.

Oh I laughed.. That's for sure.. Dark Helmet was not as corny if you can believe that

Jye loved his action scenes.. I thought they were blah.. I thought he looked silly with his big giant head.. I know its comic accurate but not everything translates well to the screen.

He could do it before the trident but at a much less controlling manner and not as fast. He needed the trident for you know who at the end.

Well it’s no BB/TDK/Logan but as a B movie it was super fun for me.

Maybe at 150 million budget they weren’t going for a B movie but for me it’s a B movie a glorious one at that.

Yeah.. My inner child should love this film.. That's how much of a miss it was for me.

I really just did not care for any characters accept AM. Thus the action suffered.

I cant dump on BP anymore because I really liked it more the second time I watched it.. Perhaps AM will have the same effect.. Not sure it will as I always liked the characters in BP but the film suffered from really below average action and F/X. It is highly overrated though and its a joke that people are even thinking Oscars.

ut I did enjoy BP way more with a 2nd viewing. ​

AM had pretty good F/X but like I said, most the characters and the story in general left me cold.

Shave off about 40 min and I might have felt differently.

I sure did love the first 30 min. Loved the Sub scene, the Biker's taking pics with AM, and the tidal wave truck scene.

I do wonder if I will appreciate Atlantis more on Home video.. I did appreciate Wakanda more on home video. Sometimes its easier for me to take it all on that way.

The movie was indeed about 15 min too long so I can’t wait for the extended cut because it’s WB afterall lol

But man did OM have a bad ass costume!

Right there with JAWS...I must be getting too old for this kind of movie. It was just evaporating as I watched it. It was gorgeous and busy, hit all of the standard origin story buttons, have an appealing lead but nothing sticks. The production is top-rate, but some things felt half - baked like the whole manta thing. Would have benefited from more development of that story idea instead of the giant incomprehensible effects reel the movie spent the last half one. Didn't dig the visit to uncanny valley with Morrison, Kidman & Defoe - no matter how hard they try, it just looks creepy.

This at least left me hoping that now that all of the boilerplate origin nonsense is out of the way, maybe the next movie could be more interesting.

I respect the movie for being so ambitious it tries to have an IW type scale even though it’s only about Atlantis it really swung for the fences.

AM deserves the 800 million box office not that tiny Venom crap.

This is going to be TLJ all over again Khev and I will love it while JAWS hates it lol

A rare 10/10 for me. I was hooked from the beginning. Nonstop action, great visuals, good cast, and a great score. Some insane action sequences and just an awesome movie. I saw it at IMAX and they had it cranked which also added to the experience.

The entire crowd applauded and was yelling at the end. Incredible movie for me. I’m going to see it again for sure. Love love love it.

Better than Skull Island where he loved it (initially) and you and I hated it, lol. Always more fun to love something.

I hope that's the case with this one but man I just don't care for Mamoa as AM and what's her name just looks like a block of wood. A super hot block of wood but still wood, lol.
