Well, I caved and put myself on the waitlist for Aragorn. I was checking out the images on the Sideshow site and decided it would be nice to have the alternate portrait. So if it converts, then that would be a great start to the line for me. And if it does not, I can always revert to my plan of using my credit at BBTS to secure a regular.
Should I have used the banner at the beginning of this thread to help Dave and the board out? I'm going to truly remember to do so for all future orders, but would it have worked with a waitlist too?

this is exclusive, but the best item I ever saw was a full size 1:1 aragorn figure made for the movie premiere and stood in the cinema entrance.
A friend had it for sale at £349.99 on ebay last year and coul get no one interested as it was huge and he could not deliver it...
It came in three pieces and as far as I know a company in germany made it, forbidden planet had it on sale a while back in the regon of £1500 but I have not seen it since...
Will see if I can find a picutre and post it on here shortly, it has to be seen to appreciate the clarity and awesomeness of the mannequin being 1:1 and the attention to detail was amazing

Not only is this amazing in person, it's one of the best products Sideshow has produced and among the best mass market statues I've ever seen. There are not enough superlatives for this one.

Just watched both of your videos Josh. Thank you so much for the coverage. I'm going to try not to miss another SDCC, but with CV and the way San Diego has become so overcrowded, I felt I really needed a year off.

Like an idiot, I left both my camera and iPhone charging cord on the counter at home. So my photo abilities are severely limited this year--but I will say that the two maquettes on display are really something. There was a part of me that wanted to not like these so I could stay away from this new line. But that sure as heck didn't happen. They are stunning.

I didn't have time. By the time I finally made it to the Sideshow booth, didn't B line it this year, the con was closing.
I'll get some pics tomorrow. Only thing I wasn't in love with was the grass and only because that was the one thing that gave away this was not a living breathing tiny Viggo Mortensen.
