The scabbard looks empty too. That bugged me with Gandalf - his scabbard is solid.

The exclusive is very cool, although he's wearing the knife on his belt, so with the exclusive it will look like he has 2 knives.

The face is great but I think right now I prefer the none ex hand.

I think that with the regular hand the motion looks more fluid, but I like it either way.

yeah they should have made his sword removable so we can pose him with just the knife or have the knife in his right hand like he's gonna throw it or something.

I'm torn between the two. The regular hand reminds me of the scene after he says his goodbyes to Frodo, turns around, sees all the Uruk-hai and calmly grabs his sword with both hands and walks towards them ready to take some heads. That scene has always given me goosebumps and puts a smile on my face. I may end up changing my exclusive to a regular just so I can have that image in my mind everytime I see this statue.

hopefully it will have a faux handle like 12 in legolas' knives. but i dont think i will pose him with the knife hand any way.

It seems that most individuals will prefer the regular hand because of the fluid motion, however the knifed hand has its own appeal and adds another dimension to the piece. But the main thing is that no matter whether you choose the exclusive pose or not, this piece is just plain AWESOME

you mean cancel the exc. and buy the reg.? you dont need to because the hands are interchangeable. you get both with the exc.

That would be one of my reasons to go with the standard pose. I will keep my EX though.

I really want them to do some more of these. I would like Legolas and Gimli next if possible. This line needs to get the Fellowship done first and Aragorn and Frodo are a great start.

You guys can thank me now--I recently sold my Lurtz PF, which guaranteed that a companion piece would be announced within the next few weeks. The same thing happened when I sold my X-Men VS. Sentinel #1. I do believe that my eBay habits have become a critical factor in the timing of Sideshow's announcements.

I did the same. But you know what? I'm still OK with the way things turned out. I'm glad that people who like Lurtz get a great companion piece but, as nice as the Lurtz PF is, I've never been a fan of the character. So my Aragorn will be defending Frodo from unseen advancing Ringwraiths/orcs/cave trolls, and that will work just fine.

i would never pose him facing lurtz anyway. that face sculpt is gonna be looking at the viewer.

Ordered! Quite outstanding. Non exclusive hand for me as well.

Aragorn and Lurtz, just about as good as it gets in the realm of PF.

tom, you out of the LotR p.f. line?

I still have Frodo and I ordered Aragorn, but sold Lurtz and cancelled Gandalf. I will not be a completist as I am with the Star Wars line, but I will pick up a select few when they interest me and look as good as Aragorn.

I ordered the Ex. Aragorn to go with my Ex. Lurtz. I don't plan on ordering anymore LOTR PF.... unless a PF Boromir is made that will fit into the display scene.
