I am inclined to agree with you Woodsy on the multiple versions of one character part! We could have had a few more different characters represented, oh well!

You mean Frodo PF? (1000 ES). Still easy to get on eBay. One sold just yesterday for just under $130! Lurtz had 750 ES Excl and still is to be gotten for retail.

I am inclined to agree with you Woodsy on the multiple versions of one character part! We could have had a few more different characters represented, oh well!

Of course SS would never do anything like that would they...?? The bottom line is that the major roles sell the most so thats what gets released the most...

No I don't, I have an issue with you lobodomized Weta zombies and the constant shots you take at SS while all the while telling us how great Weta was. You guys do realize this is a SS forum right? I'm sure there must be some Weta forum out there where you guys can discuss all day long how wonderful Weta is, and how excited you are about the new line of rayguns

I'm Just countering another baseless statement made below by a Weta lover/parrot. Is he using a single fact to back up his statement? Does he know something about SS the rest of us don't? He talks about his beloved Weta collection, then gives us his enlightened opinion that SS will never produce a Denethor statue....while somehow forgetting to mention it was his beloved Weta that never produced one in the first place?

Ditto to that ... thats the reason why SSW pieces are so dear to me, as with many collectors here.. I don't believe SS will EVER EVER made a Denethor statue... not even a 12".. but SSW has produced Grima statue... for the pure love of art.

I believe the main characters will be repeatedly produced as long as SS holds the license, like how star wars did. It will be so sick...

But from the business point of view, I can understand they have to do that to get new collectors... Just imagined producing a "Rossie Cotton in Wedding Dress Premium Format - Sideshow Exclusive" Edition Size: 50. , maybe Wetanut will get that, won't you?

Why don't you tell me which what part of my statement is untrue Weta had 5 years to produce an Eomer, Faramir [ two major characters!] and Denethor statue...did they?.....NO
Is there a greater chance that somewhere down the road we will see a SS Denethor statue as opposed to one from Weta?.....YES
Is it possible that if Weta hadn't have done 3 Aragorn statues, and two each featuring GTW, Legolas and Gimli we might have gotten a Denethor, Faramir, or Eomer statue?.....YES

I never said they won't, but if they do they'll be following in Weta's footsteps won't they?

It's certainly true there is a commercial appeal to the main characters, yet Faramir and Eomer were main characters and they were never released in statue form

Anybody else listen to the podcast yet? There's a great segment with Heath Hammond talking to Tim Hanson and Kevin Ellis about the "cut and sew" work on Aragorn. It's nice to get another perspective, and it's clear that a LOT of work went into making the clothes as screen-accurate as possible, even in areas that you can't normally see.

Now I wonder how many people are going to "pick up the leather thing" on the front to see those grommets.

I was just pointing out that you seem to take a swipe at Weta whenever you can, prompted or not. I say when I like a SS item, infact I'm buying all the dio's, and I say when I think, IN MY OPINION, something is lame, something which you readily jump to whenever Weta is mentioned. And indeed when all of the Aragorn PF was revealed, I actually said how good it looks afterall.
I don't think anyone's turning this into a SS vs Weta thing, infact I think you're doing a pretty good job of that yourself.
I just think you should calm down and check your tongue once in a while.
And yes, Weta WAS great

*sigh* how much like idiots do we sound? our first podcast and everything goes wrong. I called his duster a jerkin and everything just went downhill from there. who knew there'd be so much pressure to do a podcast!?!? There's some awesome details on this that will probably never see the light of day too. Our blood, sweat and tears went into this (literally...I stabbed myself several times hand stitching all that leather) and we're both ecstatic that the response has been so overwhelmingly positive.

I thought this would be listed as sold out in this week's newsletter, but with the low quantity alert already up, there's a good chance that it will sell out the old fashioned way.

Any guesses as to the edition size?

My guess is 500. It might be as high as 750 (for those who want it to be a companion piece for Lurtz), but I can't see it being any higher than that.
