I think part of it is the extreme expression on Ani's face; it's downright monstrous. That's great for Sith Vader, but way too much for regular Anakin.

Aragorn, on the other hand, is just perfect. I have to get one!

I'd have to call ya nuts then. The CM one is nowhere near as well done as the job done by Andy. Its just not close and I've seen the CM on in person twice and its just not worth $1500.

Then call me nuts. Take away that huge cranium and I think this is the best likeness of Viggo ever done. Obviously since it does come with that massive forehead, I'd certainly give Andy's [which is terrific] the edge.

No it's not worth $1500, and personally speaking, I think anybody paying $1500+ for a statue whether it be SS, Weta, or Cinemaquette is nuts

Did someone produce a 1/3 scale Crown of Elessar for $30-$40? I'm familiar with the 1/4 scale replica that Sideshow produced, but that would be way too small for the Cinemaquette...

I thought the guy who posted this photo said it was the SS crown, but it does look like perhaps he photoshopped this pic to give it the "what if" look. Not trying to take anything away from your sculpt Andy, it looks terrific. You and Trevor have done a fantastic job on these latest SS PF's.

Getting back to the exclusive elven knife for a moment, I like that they tried to incorporate it into the display. Given the pose however, it might have been better to make the right weapon-holding hand interchangeable instead. As I recall, the only time he used the knife was against Lurtz, after he'd been separated from his sword. For anyone who wanted to pose the two PFs together, that might've made for a more movie-like display.

A two-handed sword gripping pose might have been a better choice, at least it probably would've made more people happier with it. Then they could have made Lurtz's severed head the exclusive... and who wouldn't have been happy with that?

I think even if you shrink its still off but a decent likeness in the end. Andy just really did leaps and bounds better. I'm not saying that cause its a SS item but because of the job Andy did.

I agree paying $1500 for any collectible is crazy.

YA but we are all a little crazy. I'm sure that people think we are crazy for spending $300 on a statue. My friends think it is outrageous but I love it and as long as I enjoy it I will keep forking out the green stuff.

I don't think I mind the huge forehead on the CM piece as much as the eyes. They're dead looking. The blue is too icy; the stare is too intense but has almost no character in or around them. and with the very large forehead, makes the eyes seem too close together. Was unsettling when I saw it and made me back away from getting it.

I subscribe to the mentality of "less is more". If I have to forsake 1/6 figures, dioramas, VCD, RAH and other small purchase to buy a CM Predator then that's cool. When you add all those things we are all spending the same cash.

Nah. CM just hasn't done enough items that make me say those are items I must have. I like the items I get from the other companies way more.

Yup. They were on quite a roll there for a while. They might have been a little more sparing with them... For what it's worth, a severed Lurtz head exclusive probably would've made a little more sense in this instance, though, than some of the others, doncha think?

Yeah, perhaps; but the Ranger Cloak would have been a good choice in my opinion anyway.

I personally am not particularly crazy about severed heads as accessories for my figures, in fact all of them are still in their boxes! One or two are okay, but they did go a little overboard with 'em. I was just sort of going by what they've done so far in terms of exclusives, and not really stating my own preferences. As a matter of fact, they have yet to make any of the items I would have chosen, but such is life.

I would also rather have the ranger cloak than a severed head any day. But I seem to recall he carried it rolled up and slung by the time they'd reached Amon-hen. Didn't he wear only the elven cloak after they left Lorien?
