I agree. It's got one of my favorite bases and the costume is fantastic as well. The sculpt really is much better in person (though it's still far from perfect)

I just got my Frodo PF yesterday and it is way better in person. Glad to have him in my collection.

Can't wait for Aragorn. Sideshow QC better pull through for this. I am going to be very upset, if the sculpt is another Gandalf fiasco.

i used to work a customer service job. here's an interesting stat, no matter what is done to satisfy complainers, 10% of the public will never be happy no matter what. that's one in every ten.

Despite all the negativity surrounding Frodo.....I bought it from ebay for like $100 and am very glad I did. It looks great in person and the cloth work is very detailed..

Even his skin has a darker tone. Hopefully in hand it will look A LOT better than the prodcution pics.

The likeness still looks good. I do agree that the cloak color has gone off a little bit from what it is supposed to be.
It's like when they pushed the "realism" button the colors went to realistic medieval clothing mode but became slightly innacurate.

I just saw the final production photos for Aragorn on SS's website, and I was a bit taken aback by how much they changed the sculpt. After looking at it for a bit though, its starting to grow on me, and I actually think it looks like a more realistic sculpt than the prototype. I think the pissed look fits, because after all it is depicting him in battle, and it seems like his eyes are more focused and intense than on the prototype also. To me, as good as the sculpt looked on the prototype, his eyes looked like they were kinda unfocused and looking off in the distance. And yes the cloak color looks off, but what I think is causing it is the fact that they've weathered all the clothing and even his skin. I think the cloak color is off because they purposely faded the color on it, and his skin tone seems tan because they applied dirt and grime to it. If you look at his clothes, everything seems to have a dirty, worn out look to them which I think fits. It seems to me that they put more detail in his facial sculpt as well, yeah it looks a little different, but its still Aragorn, and I think we're all just so used to the prototype sculpt that this one has to grow on everyone. But I don't think it looks awful in any way, and I'm still very much looking forward to it. Just my rather long opinion on the situation.

The clothes on the prototype looked a bit too clean. The only thing that should have remained clean (so to speak) was the cloak since it is elvish/magical. The cloack color was better on the proto. I am still hoping the colors are just a matter of lighting in the pics.
