Now it sounds like more people are getting him undamaged, so mine's definitely going back for a replacement. If I spend $300 on a statue, it's going to be mint.

I was thinking of ordering when this eventually goes giftcard status (hopefully).

The regular probably will but I seriously doubt the exclusive will hit GC status. It seems to be quite popular (despite the hair breakage issue)

#600 arrived here yesterday. Mine is perfect and I really like the sculpt. I am not sure what all the negativity is about.

I don't think there is any negativity amongst people who have the piece in hand (aside from the breakage issues). It's just that, as usual, the photos we were shown didn't really do the piece justice.

For those that are seeing that tiny line on the hair tendril, and are thinking it's broken; That tendril is obviously cast separately from the rest of the hair, and attached later.

That's the problem with highly defined pics. They point out imperfections that are a non-issue and not seen by the naked eye.

I thing it would still look better if his beard was a little darker, I don't remember from the movies it being as light is is appears?

I may have you all beat - not only is the strand of hair broken off, but the piece isn't even in the box. I've never had to return an SS item before, so I guess there's a first time for everything.

I think if you were swinging a sword at someone you'd look sort of evil in the face as well

Seriously though, I've still not seen pictures that do it justice. Definitely something to see in person.

seriously?? i see NO evil at all, but instead a stern and resolute expression. a look of determination.
i'm also seeing that even many of the ones where the hair is not broken off, that strand of hair looks kinda strange. like it sets too far away from the forehead, or down into his eyes. i always thought it was supposed to represent a wet stranding of hair that has stuck flush to his forehead.

IMHO, this is the only piece you need of Aragorn. Its absolutely perfect. I'm going to display it right under my UC Strider sword.

I agree. There is nothing evil in his face. He looks grim, but fighting orcs is grim business.
