Re: Aragorn PF!!!

Yeah, like I said, when people take up close photos of the face it does a huge injustice to how good it looks in person. The eyes don't look abnormal at all.

Re: Aragorn PF!!!

Great new pictures! I noticed from these that the top of the base on most of the Aragorn PF's were painted with color variations. The one I received looked unfinished and was painted one solid color.

Re: Aragorn PF!!!

Mine was intact. And the offending lock is pretty close to the head. Is it just me, or does it seem that particular lock made of a different type of plastic than the rest of the hair? The rest of the hair is hard poly-stoney whereas the lock across the forehead is bendy. That might also be the reason that it's broken off on some of yours?

The yellow ring in the eyes are NOT noticeable upon normal view (or even very close up). In fact, I'm thinking they're there to emphasize the light blue eye color without it washing out (were it just blue) or being ringed by black or brown (ugh!). As is, the blue of the eyes just pop naturally. You painters out there....am I perceiving this right?

Re: Aragorn PF!!!

214 arrived in perfect shape! man this thing looks awesome. haven't read all this thread so forgive me if it's been mentioned (probably many ) times now, but don't ya think it's a lil ballsy that they'd have the proto pic on the box lol. i mean, i LOVE the production piece and in a way even moreso than the proto ( love the stern expression more than the calm) but my wife kept looking at the box art and back at the statue. all in all i think it's an incredible piece.

oh and anyone think he may be a TINY bit on the small side when placed next to Lurtz?

Yes, mine has some nice color details. In fact, when I looked at it, I thought it looked very similar to your repainted version.

And I just thought I'd also mention that, as far as the "ease" of fixing this, well, from my perspective, it ain't easy. Even if I get it aligned as well as I can, the seam is VERY noticeable, and would require at least some touch-up paint, and probably some filler, neither of which I have lying around the house.

Re: Aragorn PF!!!

hmm. just now reading about the lazy eye probs. now while i've recieved quite a few pieces from SS that have it (poor ole Buffy and Mary Jane, ect) this doesn't have it at all, at least on mine.

Re: Aragorn PF!!!

This piece does not photograph well, esp. with flash on. Everything about this PF is perfect, including the eyes.

Agreed, this puts the LOTR PF line back firmly in action -- Galadriel isn't a sure-thing for me; but the Moria Orc sure is! :monkey5

Thanks for the info about your base. That confirms that the mono-colored base I received was not the norm.

Luckily, I had all the necessary supplies handy to make the repair because I customize 1/6 head sculpts (One Sixth Art). Otherwise, it would have been a pain to have to buy everything.

Re: Aragorn PF!!!

Nice pics Fly, hopefully you can push more over the edge --- we need to get more LOTR PFs!
