It's not getting easier with wifes...

I wouldn't consider myself a collector as yet like some of u guys but my wife's totally with anything i buy in fact sometimes when i'm not sure she'll say yeah go on get it.

She is after all the one who suprised me with an xbox for christmas the other year and also bought me JV's FOTR litho.I feel the same that if she wants something ill encourage her to buy it as she deserves it.I'm just lucky i guess,no i know i am.

Can't wait for my fav Strider to make an appearance.

My damaged Aragorn is finally going back to today. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the replacement piece arrives safely and with the hair stand in tact.

lol, no im happy with mine, like I said overall she's understanding on what I purchase, but there are exceptions, like if the piece is ugly in her eyes, she doesn't like it facing her in the room lol..I had to move my endoskull bust so that it's facing behind the couch so that she doesn't see it...lol...so that's the only time she really has something to say if she thinks the piece is ugly or scary looking, but she loves my Aragorn and Gandalf PF's...

That's awesome, Red! My old boyfriend was that way. He collected lower priced things but probably had just as much money invested. He was always excited to see what I got next. I swear that guy had a million hot wheels. I think as long as you're not putting yourself or your family into a bind, then there shouldn't be a problem. I can think of worse hobbies!

Exactly, I see it has as long as your paying your way and your bills first and then if you have enough money left over for yourself, save it up for your collectibles...sure it's an expensive hobby, but thank god for pre-ordering, it gives me time to save up my funds for the things I want, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford them...lol

I just received #126 and he looks great! No damage to the hair. My main gripe is that the evenstar has a flat non-sculpted back to it, and the way it attaches to the chain/rope flips it on its side so that it is sticking out rather than lying flat on his chest. Also, there is too much material under his neck, so the clasp on the elven cloak is forced off to the side. Aside from those two issues, I'd say this one turned out perfect.

I think its funny to read about issues with Wives. My Wife just bought Loki's Doom for me and reminded me that Aragorn and IM are set to arrive today, she is more excited to see them then I am.

I'm in the same boat. My wife saw 7 PF boxes arrive this week(Blade vs Dracula, HulkX2, ThingX2, Darkness Excl, Cap,) and didn't blink.

I never understood the obsession with number one. For me having the very last number like 1500/1500 is much more appealing that number one.....:

Numbers mean absolutely nothing to me. A number 666 on the Darkness piece would be cool but I'd never pay a dime extra. I love it when ebay sellers try to hype a piece by saying "low number! 80/1500!" Big damned deal. Even AP's are almost always identical to a production piece. What makes them rare? Someone wrote AP on them.

I agree with that...Although it is cool when you get a new statue and you get a low number, it is not the number that i really care about but the workmanship of the statue!!

I suppose if I was surprised with one numbered under 10 I might be somewhat impressed, but yeah, the number sits in the dark under the polystone. The piece is what matters.

That's great that numbers aren't important you you guys, but I hope you aren't trying to say that people who do like having lower numbers are wrong to do so.

It's a matter of personal preference and collecting style. Does it bother you that much that a low number might motivate some other collector?

No, it bothers me that sellers try to create artificial value over numbers when there isn't any. Personal preference is...well personal. I just don't want to hear someone tell me a piece is worth more because of a low number when it clearly isn't. It just makes suckers out of uninformed noobs.
