You know, for all the money and power that sony has, i wonder if Microsoft has more. Oh wait.. they do. And they're sore loosers as well. This is only a guess here, but becuase of sony winning, i see one of two things happeneing.
AFAIK, Microsoft as backing HD/DVD as the next great for mat ( Correct me if I'm wrong on that) By loosing, they've lost some money, but they're not going t o care about that. Microsoft will either look forward at the next big format, and start working on it now, OR ( and this is more likely i think) DO what they usualy try to do with the competition. Simply Buy them out. If anyone could, It would be microsoft. That's kinda a scary though when you think about it

I bet it sells well in some states. I have seen video stores in some areas that only rent censored versions.

I don't see this catching on. some parents may buy them, but the large percent of the general public is not gonna go for it.

I don't see it catching on in most part of the country but in places like parts of the bible belt or in Utah and Idaho(sorry I have to say it, this is where i found the censored rental store). Censorship is very important to them.

I just got a $50 credit from Amazon for the HD DVD player I bought from them. I guess that is some consolation for having to sell the dam thing with 8 movies for $130.........

just got one myself! i also purchased a second HD-DVD player last week just in case my current one breaks. as far as i'm concerned, the HD movies i have still play, still look awesome, so i might as well make use of it.

I just got my 5 free HD-DVDs in the mail yesterday. :banana I think 3 of the 5 were replacements for what I actually selected. :lol

I would be much more worried about this new monstrosity called "clear play" technology. Now your movies can be censored seamlessly.

Why buy them anymore??

Uh, I find "clearplay" to be offensive! The only usefulness for this sort of this is if there's a machine that seemlessly edits IN sex and violence.

When did you buy your player? I wonder if I'll get a credit as well, I bought mine last August I think...

P.S. I still love your avatar.
