I would even pay more. I don't even see this as a demo everyone keeps going crazy about. It's MGSV on my NEW PS4, whats not too love? Besides, it's only $30 on next gen (digital) and I'm one to play multiple times to get all the trophies and get S rank on each mission. I definitely see myself playing MUCH more than the "OMGZ ITS ONLY 2 HOURS" bull crap.

If you don't see the value in replaying missions, competing leaderboards, etc, quit whining and don't buy it. Konami will see this is not a good strategy and price cut it.

The game isn’t 2 hours though, I don’t know why everyone keeps emphasizing on that. I agree with you also I will probably get 10 hours out of this game minimum before I decide to shelf and play something else.

The game is 20 dollars digital on last gen, which is what most of us are playing on, and that is more than fair for this game, yet everyone keeps saying it’s 40 dollars as if they don’t have options.

If that's your prerogative, then fine. But, honestly, I just don't see how anyone (without reluctance) can be so okay with bending over and taking it up in the arse to whatever Konami wants to charge them. It's no doubt that many will get this on release, but judging from the reactions on the net and especially on this forum, I assume it'll be more of a bittersweet decision to part with "only $30" for this thing.

Heck, the MGS Legacy collection costs just a little more than GZ, and it includes ALL of the MGS games ever made by Kojima - not a two-hour introduction to MGS V. I hope those side-quests are long enough to keep everyone entertained.

This pisses me off. It is specifically mentioned in MGS4 so it is cannon. You cant go back on that.

Kojima treats PO like the bastard child of MGS. Of course, it wasn't the most important of chapters and it was practically a spin-off. But, the same can be said about Peace Walker.

Dude, you can't be serious?

There ya go. To re-iterate, if Konami made it clear long ago that it was a 2 hour main mission then it would have been cool. We would have plenty of time to think about it, as trailer after trailer comes out. Instead the length of the main mission was intentionally left vague only until a month prior to the release.

Well, that certainly puts it into perspective. It's perplexing how Kojima was even given the green light for this.

The Last of Us: Left Behind cost 15 dollars and it is literally a 2 hour game. MGSV is about a 4-5 hour game for 20-30 dollars on the same system. For ps4/Xone gamers, 30 still isn’t terrible. 40 for a solid copy is though. I see the price range as good, fair, bad. We have the choice to pick, it isn’t like this cost 40 dollars for everyone.

This game will be extremely cheap in a month, and everyone will pretty much forget about all of this.

Most of us knew this was going to be extremely short. We pretty much knew what was happening, I don’t know why everyone seems shocked by the length of the game. I can understand if we were guaranteed some epic long adventure game, but it was always pretty certain this game would be short.

Well, Left Behind is a DLC, and the short length of two-hours and price of $15 falls within the general range of we'd expect for a small expansion. But, going back to Ryan's point, GZ was marketed as a full-retail game, as well as the first part of MGS V.

I do play a lot of Sandbox games like Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs, and Assassin's Creed. But, I think Kojima is the first developer I've seen who has tried to justify the apparent short length of GZ, by mentioning "extras" as a means to hyperbolize its play-time. Let me put it this way: if I'm paying for a game, I would want its main course (aka. the campaign) to be satisfying and fully reflective of its price. The extras and competitive replays should be optional, but not as a compulsory means to extend a short play-time; and as we were discussing before, it's pretty hilarious that some of the "speed runners" at Konami managed to finish the campaign in under five-minutes.

Also, not to toot my own horn, but, I think I was the first one here to exclaim about GZ's length; given that the events in the trailer seem to take place in one night. I knew it was going to be short, but certainly not THIS short, and not this expensive, either :lol.

TLOU Left Behind is a DLC to supplement a game everyone have already paid for. Imagine if the first 2 hours of the main campaign of TLOU was released at such a premium price, people would have thrown a fit too regardless if TLOU is such a sublime game.

If that's the case then it's even worse. Imagine how infuriated some gamers will be when they find out the game they paid good money for something that goes cheap in.. a month. I can only foresee this going down in price almost a year after launch, and probably free around the time TPP comes out.

Granted, it's a reasonable and logical speculation that it would be short, but so long as it wasn't confirmed by Kojima it remained just that- speculation. Considering the asking price, no one in their right mind would expect it to be this short though.

I mean its bad when you realise great full length games cost the same upon release like Metal Gear Rising or DMC

Again this is MetalGear, my fav franchise of all time. But if your not a super fan like myself then ignore it till its 5 bucks.
It wait for *deep breath* march 2015 for the full game

The price will drop, its inevitable you just have to wait.. I doubt doing this will become a standard in video games

We talked about it I remember, we talked about Skull Face then we said 4-6 hours was more like wishful thinking and the campaign may be 2-3 hours long :dunno

The digital release will drop to 20 at least... with all the people complaining about it I doubt the konami guys think they can get away with it :lol

You mean you didn't find it believable that the cops were underground for months but come out clean shaving? :rotfl

Lol...I said that the first time I saw this in the theater.

~~On topic. I cancelled my order for this game. $40 is too much for this when it's only a small portion of the complete game. I have a birthday coming up in a few months so I might ask my brother to get it for me or something. With that said, I cancelled this and decided to order the new Thief game. I figured I might as well get some stealth action on.

:exactly: I agree with Solidis and generally don't like where this going nor the justifications made

Well said! Somebody get this man a ham!

I rarely buy a game when it first drops. I have too many waiting to be played as is. So no, I will not be paying the $20 to get this. If I see it on sale for $10 then sure.

Has it been confirmed yet if the content on this will be available on the Phantom Pains disc?

Another question could be who all bought MGS2 Substance, and MGS3 Subsistence after owning the original games? Weren't they just the same game with a few added extras for close to new prices?

(I'm not sure I don't have them)

MGS 3 subsistence was the greatest limited collectors edition ever in my book period. Back when the term "limited" meant something.

Both re-releases had plenty of added stuff to justify the purchase IMO (MGS2 and 3)

Definitely in terms of MGS as a whole. MGO was so addicting back then, I didn't care about MGO2 at all.
