I wouldn't mind paying $60. It's MGS, enough said.

There's something very wrong with a person willing to pay for a public tryout content.

I said it depends. I have a curiosity about this whole thing. How expansive are the side quests? I mean the Game Informer article even says they did not do all the side missions and they were limited to 4 hrs. Speed runs mean nothing to me, because I will never do one. If this game can clock out at around 6-8 hrs, with a well told story, and good side missions(not counting the Raiden and Solid Snake missions) I could be satisfied. I am still on wait and see mode. I'm not ready to write this one off completely .

And I get the complaints, but Kojima is far from the worse abuser of this system. How many developers release broken products, that they promise to patch. I love Skyrim, but we all paid $60 to be play testers on that one. Games ship incomplete, buggy, or broken and we pay full price. Not saying asking us to pay for a demo isn't bad, but just wanted to share some thoughts.

All these Japanese game developers are idiots, all their games are over hyped garbage, MGS hasn't been good since the PS1 days, go ahead and hate on me, its true.

I think the magazine was $10, which was expensive for a magazine back then.

But will it all be included in the final, released game? If not, then it's not really a demo IMO.

No. Kojima wants this to hold us fans over till the Phantom Pain comes out will this be included in the other game mostly likely but its still a 2 hour game.

I sir would agree with you 100% even though MGS3 is good its not as great as MGS1

Yes, because American studios and the Call of Dutification of all gaming is a great thing? The industry as a whole is in a slump. Ubisoft has turned the interesting AC series into Madden. EA is EA, enough said. Everything is turning into a homogenized sequel or retread. I would argue that at least Japanese developers still understand that not everything needs to be CoD. Kojima, for his many faults, is still willing to take chances with his series. Not everything works, but at least he tries. Yes, he gets weird, and yes, he may have lost his way. But at least he's trying. I am way more excited about MGSV than this years Assassin's Creed.

Its doesn't matter if you like it or not, MGS is one of the only video game franchises that has a good ongoing quality. CoD is pretty much everything that is wrong with the world :lol

Yet still, people pay upwards $100 for useless, "collectors
Edition" of broken games that need to be patched on a weekly basis. How often does Kojima releases a new MGS? For all the AC's, COD's, battlefields of the world that get a yearly release (I don't care about any of those) that are basically the same damn thing, with a $60 tag. Oh, and +$100 for the "limited" collectors editions.

Take my money Kojima. I have no problem supporting your game making talent.

I have played all the AC games except Liberation and 4. I refuse to pay EA for what amounts to yearly NFL roster updates. And CoD stopped being interesting to me with Modern Warfare 2. Why do you ask?
