Name a movie about a real British hero which had no involvement with the US that generated huge box office returns in the US? Box office returns equals interest

They certainly are. If an oscar awarded film that depicted the American's involvement as a footnote in WW2 and acted like it was the true story, these same defensive people would cry bloody murder.

Well it was in response to this statement. If you don't see connection. Its not a big deal. Yes it didn't refer to america as a footnote specifically but it didn't portray them as the good guys.

That has nothing to do with this. It's not about good or bad guys.

Then what is it about. Iwo Jima was based on true events as well. Aren't u guys upset because Canada's role was diminished and it said based on true events. What is the difference??

Your reasoning is incomprehensible. Whar does Canada have to do with Iwo Jima?

Amen... that's Americans for you.... Ignorance is a wonderful dish best served cold. Why is it best served cold?

Absolutely nothing. What does a ww2 movie that marginalizes Americas role have to do with Argo?? You guys keep reaching for straws

It was ur freakin quote not mine. If your not going to use logic neither will anyone else

Are you for real? It was merely a juxstaposition. Canada's role was completly marginalized in Argo in favor of making the CIA appear as the masterminds when Ben and co promoted the film as truth.

Yes we all understand that. Your opinion of this movie is valid. Just don't watch American movies and stick to Canadian movies eh. Problem solved, conversation done. Nobody forces u to watch this so called crap, stick it to Hollywood with your wallet and stop *****ing on a board. Its pointless.

It's not that easy, it's called having an opinion, perspective. Even if it's different than yours doesn't mean you have to take it personally. Much like I did to Josh in the Life of Pi thread. I was in the bad, I know... and therefore I made good with Josh. We hugged and made up. We laughed, we cried. Then we laughed again. Oh my God we're an emotional mess.

Seriously, people have a right to be upset. Their points are valid, then again as others have mentioned, it's just a movie. It's a lovely thing living in a free world, we have an opinion and we should be entitled to express it. The thing that makes it beautiful is others shed light on different perspectives and make you think, hmmmm, I never saw it that way. It gives you a broader range to see things vs. just looking through a narrow crack. Or you can be stubborn and not see things on a broader level by putting the individual down.
