has anybody got any high resolution images of the sandow statue??? planning on doing a 1/4 scale version of it to stand along side this statue and the other olympian statues...along side the people who have won it, think it would add a bit of class and finish things of nicely, if you have just post them in this thread if poss. thanks people

The hands are getting reworked yes? The physique is 100 percent Ahhhnold! Pumping Iron was bad ass, and this was when he was in his prime.

Oddly enough he wouldn't win much competitions even in Novice competitions because he is not symmetrical. His legs are no where near as big as his upper body is. He would have lost so many marks for that.

But he is definitely my favorite body builder regardless of that.

i think it would look nice definitely and hopefully i can get them all done to a standard we all like. big lou is being made even though he never won he still competed so he is still an olympian, other such as shawn ray have been asked for aswell and he never won so it doesnt have to be just winners i suppose. thanks mate

not really mate i have made some tweaks here and there but the statue apart from the hair is really 99% done and finished. imay have a look at them and see what i can do but they are accurate to the pose may just need refining a bit more?? is that what you mean???

defo defo defo, that is one iconic pose from some of the biggest arms in the buiseness....and yeah most muscular for lou....just cant find any good photos of him never mind in that pose?

this is on other forums and people are crying out for lou, him being arnolds main rival i suppose, so maybe that, but along side i will be doing something different, a statue of one of my all time sporting legends iron mike tyson!

Exactly what I meant bud. The fingers just seems so rounded and soft. The rest of the sculpt is great too. Also, I noticed the hair is a bit rough.

ill see what i can do mate and yeah the hair is only roughed in at the minute, its a work in progress and there to see what the head looks like as a whole at the minute.

statue on its own: 17.5 inches tall
statue with base: 19.5 inches tall approx
(my last estimates were over but these are accurate)

That shot with the Hulk and Thing looks amazing! Do you have any other PFs to display Arnold next to? The other 2 are big boys, it would be nice to see him next to Captain America or a normal human PF.

thanks guys glad you like, i dont have any of the more human sized pf to compare him to but i think he would be smaller than the captain america because i did have him and remember him being very big even though hes supposed to be more human sized.

if anyone could photoshop comparison with these guys that would be great to see. with the anatomy being more realistic and not super hero proportions i think he may be a bit smaller but not too much

quick update:

there has been a small delay in the finishing and production of the piece but dont worry not because anything has gone wrong. the reason for the delay is that i have a guy who is interested in a 1/2 scale 3 feet 1 inch model of this so when the hair is finished instead of going onto cast i am going to get the piece 3d scanned and 3d printed depending on costs etc. so there may be a couple of weeks added onto the finish time. cant wait to see the finished piece 1/2 scale though and see what can be done.

changes that have been made:
1. hair refined more and completed
2. change position of body slightly as found previous version to be too passive and leaning back to much...think the update is a lot better and makes it look like the pose is more aggressive and owned by arnie.... alot more accurate to actual arnie pose. may not see the diff in pics but trust me its better.

the statue is going to get scanned next week and printed out bigger, then casting can begin!
