Depends on the movie, really. Terminator, absolutely. But anything else he's done, so long as the roles are age appropriate, I think it'd work.

Thats the thing I always find bizare, it's one thing growing old gracefully and not pretending you're somebody you're not like somebody below 50. In another 5 - 10 years when they are all in their 70's, really, running around as soldiers, really, at the age of 70, all these wrinkley guys. Thats bizarre.

I think thats why since the mid/late 90's I've always taken to Clint Eastwood. He plays like real life roles, somebody thats been there and had the experience like a General/Sergeant or to do with Nasa.

Even though I'm looking forward to The Last Stand, it's a bit too far fetched. No real life Sheriff would be sitting with a midi-gun traveling at high speed in a bus. Yes it's just a film, yes it's an Arnie comeback but Eastwood never seems to play roles that are so far fetched it just looks so silly and unbelievable. And yes, I know they're two different actors and acting styles. But at 60/65+, you have to act your age.

Your logic would almost be logical if you weren't comparing apples to oranges. Presuming that Arnold could handle roles that Eastwood has done to define himself as an older actor is naive.

I highlighted the only thing in your passage that seems to make any sense. Also, I know plenty of guys in their 60s that still try to act like theyre teenagers, so its not like theres a problem with Arnold handling his age in his own way, not everyone is or can be an Eastwood, and tbh, they shouldn't try.

Not sure I agree. I think Arnold could easily pull off a Grand Torino-ish film so long as the character made believable accommodations for his accent. I also think he could've handled something like Million Dollar Baby as well. Eastwood had to overcome the same type of type-cast hurdles in his own career. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a single producer in Hollywood who'd trust Arnold with a role like that. :lol

And right theres the rub. Maybe if he gets to be a big deal in Hollywood again someone will chance it on him, but right now hes just getting his feet wet again. I think its a little too early for him to jump the shark at this point.

I had already mentioned I'd love to see him revisit the character of John matrix as an older man, this could be done similar to Eastwood in the Unforgiven. I'd never say Arnold doesn't have potential for accomplishment, but thats I think hes doing fine where hes at right now and refreshing peoples memories as to who he is.

Yeah thats a pity. I'd be interested in seeing him doing a very non-Arnie role...or at least a much dialled-back role like Stallone had in Copland (i.e - yes he takes up arms at the end as you expect of a Stallone film but its not OTT and he almost gets killed doing it)

His accent has always been a bit of a stumbling block...yet he wouldn't be Arnie without it.

Just got though seeing this at the Alamo Drafthouse. The movie itself was meh, 6/10 at best.

What was kewl was Arnold and Knoxville had a q&a afterwords. When it was over we ran down to the doors while they posed for pics. I stood right next to Arnold as he left. It was awesome but he looked old. He wasn't shaking hands but my buddy Chris did get a autograph, the only one he did.

Worth the 7 hour dive and having to look and listen to Harry knowles wheel his ugly mug around. :lol

I'd take your opinion Evil, but you think everything is meh. :lol

But honestly, I'm not surprised it is. It didn't look like a movie that was going to really break new ground. But I just want to see Arnie back on the big screen again.

Me too, I'm going to see this just because I want to see Arnold back in action. It is an action move and I'm not going to expect much of a plot, but hopefully it has a somewhat decent story.

Cooooll. How tall did he seem? :D

Standing right next to him. :yess: He was level with my nose, so I would day 6 foot.

If Arnold wasn't in this, it would have been direct to Netflix.

all the old people jokes...live long enough and we will all be old one day....I think Arnold looks great for his age, to me he aged better than a lot of actors his age...I look forward to seeing this movie. I don't go to the movie for believability I go to be entertained, (yes it is good to see a realistic movie every once in a while) to be wowed and leaved the theater feeling pumped up, because I have just watched one h-ll of a movie. It's funny how we seem to enjoy tearing down celebrities, I guess it makes us feel better about our own lives.

LOL you mad bro?

And **** celebrities. They're all high priced prostitutes at the end of the day.

No not mad just making an observation, and if they are high priced prostitutes I would gladly be their kind of prostitute. Their money could cure a lot of my problems, probably add some, but what the hey you have to take the bad with the good.
