congrats, heard only fantastic things about the book, hoping to get the sdcc version

Re: Art Books

I wish I knew.... I would have waited but like many of us, I pre-ordered as soon as I saw it :(

Re: Art Books

Was going to pick up a copy of Cover Run on amazon, but I think now I'll do it at SDCC. You mentioned a SDCC Exclusive Version of the book, what would that entail???

Unfortunately, I don't think Adam has enough Marvel art to fill a book. His career has really been dominated by DC the last decade or so. Maybe one day we can manage a book that will be more of his whole career; Marvel, Dark Horse, Lucasfilm, etc.

trust me; you were smart to do so. I just talked to DC Comics book division. Cover Run is sold out. So you now have what may someday be a rare, first edition copy! They are going back to press for a second edition, so hopefully it will be in stores soon.

Right now we are planning on doing TWO San Diego Comic Con exclusives with the book. Adam and I couldn't pick one idea over the other, so we are going to break our 200 books into 2 exclusives of 100 pieces each. This will also allow for 2 different price points.

One book will have a collectible book plate (of the Ex Libris variety) adhered inside the cover. Like a traditional Ex Libris plate, it will have a place on it for the owner's name. The other exclusive will be a book and print set. I'm not 100% certain on the prices yet, but I should know in the next day or two. Something else to note; the book has gone back to press for a second edition. The books we are doing the exclusives with are all first editions.

But the books you're gonna be selling at San Diego will be first editions as well, right?

That would be awesome.

Very cool!

So, just to know what all is going down:

There are 100 of these numbered pieces - Were you not able to get the 200 books you ordered or do you have 200, but only 100 of them are numbered?

Will you only sell a certain amount per day, or will it all be first come first serve until they are sold out?

Will you be selling them preview night or do we have to wait till a certain day/time of day?

Sorry, I just remember how hectic it was to have to get to certain people first before they closed off their lists/exclusives sold and I'm trying to figure out who I gotta run to right away :slap

What would be awesome is a book like this about his Comiquette line, some day when there are enough of them, maybe with interviews with the several sculptors, rejected concepts, artist's impressions, etc etc...a dream come true!:yess:

Good Questions!

I will start selling on Sneak Preview Night, but we will only sell a third of the edition on Wednesday. The balance will be up for sale starting on Thursday. At that point we will sell until they are gone.

We did get all 200 books we requested. One perk of being the author, I guess, even if it wasn't at wholesale. We have yet-unrevealed plans for the second 100 books. Once its done I'll post information and a photo!

That's my idea! :wink1:

Allison said they brought it up to Sideshow and they are keen on the idea! :yess: Hopefully it'll happen soon.
