Why is this in the Star Wars area? Wouldn't this be better in the General Area?

I have no problems with any of mine and I have all the SW 12"ers.

Huh, mine do that too, but I didn't know it was common, I figured I was doing something. SO wait, I'm pay $40-$60 for a lopsided figure? Christ SS get new bodies, I'm tired of having to deal with all of this futzing and customizing. There's a point where I enjoy it, but there's a point where I feel ripped off and am frustrated by the constant work I have to put into these. Their toys, not models. I should only have to do so much!!! Just sell headsculpts and some costume pieces for less money, I'll deal with getting a body.

Damn dude, did SS kick your dying dog as well?

If for some change SS did release just the head and clothes, you would have people *****ing because the clothes didn't fit a certain companies figures right or the neck posts don't line up right ect.

I'm hoping the new bodies are more than just the new hobbit-size.

I've got every 1/6 figure they've made and I've never encountered this problem.

Every one??? Wow, you really got to have a huge house, DollLord Dave

I've got 21 and I've only noticed it on 2, Qui-Gon and Lincoln. It's not that noticeable, if you look closely it looks like Lincoln is putting more weight on his left foot. I just have his left arm resting on Ben Franklin's shoulder like he's leaning close to him. No biggie. Qui-Gon is a little more noticeable because I have him sitting on the shelf with his legs dangling, but if you don't look closely it just looks like one leg is slightly bent or something.

I've only had this problem with my Scaramanga doll, the right leg is noticeably longer. I stripped him down and nothing was twisted wrong or out of place, it's just longer.

I'm just THAT passionate on SS making a better body. Sorry if I feel a little ripped on paying that kind of money on a flawed figure. It's just getting to me, I love SS head sculpts, but those bodies...yeesh. And like I said, why should I, or any of us, have to pay up to $60 (before shipping) for a half finished figure? My answer is because I need to buy it cause' I'm a sick Star Wars addict, so it is my own fault.

I can go on about what I love about SS, but I do that enough, and this seems like the kind of thread to complain a little. And I don't think I'm asking too much to get a quality body for a quality head sculpt rather than a lack luster body for a quality head sculpt. Again, just my opinion though.

Also, if SS kicked my dying dog....I'd still break down and buy SS :D

Re: Art Buck 'One syndrome' is very real

I guess all y'all missed what I said above. Take the figure's pants off and make sure the legs are twisted the right way. My Mulder had two different length legs and when I went to see what was wrong, it was just a twisted thigh joint.

I might have lucked out, but it's worth checking don't you think?

Just wondering how many tried what was said in the above quote? I as well have yet to encounter a problem with one leg being longer than the other….

I remember reading messages talking about this problem and I was skeptical. Like most people, I thought it had something to do with the knees. One joint must been bent more than the other, right? I thought it was an easy fix. Well, that was until I received my Walter Skinner. After careful examination, I think it has something to do with how the legs were assembled to the torso. But no matter what experimentation I do, I cannot get the legs to adjust evenly. I am now a believer.

Sing it with me now:

Then I saw his leg. Now I'm a believer! Not a trace, of length adjustment in sight.
Now I'm real bummed. oooooooooooo I'm a believer, I can't lengthen it - I've tried!

JS :lol

Once Sideshow releases a character in a scene specific costume, that's the only one they're going to release. They might cover some characters in costume variations such as Luke in Endor gear which is similar to the first release, but not the first one.
So when Sideshow does release a new basic body or you get a replacement from another company, you'll be outa luck if you want to pay retail for the long sold out original Sideshow set.
I'd like newer bodies, but I'm not going to miss out on a release just because of a poor body.

You can get Dragon & BBI Bodies for $9-$14 most places, Perfect Girl bodies are $14, Triad bodies will go for $30 I think, Hot Toys new Generation Life are $25-$30 and Medicom bodies are around $30, and there are a few other alternatives out there like Volks Neo guy for $40.
All but the Dragon, BBI, and Perfect Girl bodies are released as replacement bodies, intended to replace inferior or broken ones.
Plenty of options out there for you to find a replacement.

As for not having to buy a new body because the original is crap, it's customary in the 1/6 collecting world.
Also, Dragon calls their figures models, have since before Sideshow ever made a 1/6 figure. So that too is traditional. ;)

But all I'm saying is I, or us the "market" shouldn't HAVE to replace bodies, especially for the price of these things.

And as far as passing characters, I pass when they have bad head sculpts or when I just don't care about the character. Not because the body, but it certainly is erking me that I pay this kind of money and don't fully get the best toy for it when I know SS can deliver. I mean look at PF, we get THE BEST for the price, they should move those standards to the 1/6 line as well.

I hope no one takes my complaints personally either, or thinks I'm some SS basher. I love SS, but if we don't raise our expectations will they, or any company, ever raise the bar even more for a better product?

Hey everyone, first post here.

I too, have had this problem. My Qui-Gon's leg is longer than the other one, though when I dropped his pants(No pun intended), the hip joints were fine.

I hope I don't have this problem with my Inclusive Maul, he looks to be my favorite of the bunch.

And some don't have a problem with the bodies. Would I take a new one? Sure. But the bodies they use now I don't have any problems with. They fit their style of figures just fine. And SS has said hey are looking into new bodies, so I don't see why people beat the dead whale (yes we have moved on since the horse was beaten to nothing)

And Noble Warrior, that face in your avatar is freaky. Looks like a perv asking kiddies if they want some candy :rotfl

Okay I got ya. Issues with the sculpt would be enough to put me off too. But since I have every Star Wars 12" so far, I don't have any major issues.
Personally, I don't think the bodies have to be replaced unless they have one leg longer then the other; in which case I'd contact Sideshow for a replacement.
And PF figures have had their issues as well, the new Buffy PF apparently has a wondering eye just like the Cordy 12" figure.
