That is the funniest picture I've ever seen
It's Sachiel's pic, not mine. My Aragorn is sitting on a shelf right now.
I should have lifted the shirt more, but I think the waist and up was pretty straight. I know on one of my figures the abdomen piece is crooked because of, I think, excess plastic from the mold in the pelvic or it's a crooked hole. I'm glad they're updating the base body and can't wait to see it (it's not just a 'hobbit' body though is it?). If I remember they did not actually make the Art Buck body themselves, right? Correct me on that.
I wish we had confirmation they were updating the same 12" body they've used since their very first 1/6 figure. There have been improvements such as better wrist pins and beefier builds but the articulation is the same since the beginning. It'll be a lot of work but other companies release improved base bodies almost every year, what's stopping Sideshow?
They said they're making 1/6 scale hobbit sized bodies which I think is a no-brainer. They'll have to with the new LOTR and Star Wars licenses. But I have doubts Sideshow will use better designed articulation there.
I wish Sideshow would just buy the rights to use Hot Toys's 12" body and be done with it.
I have the same issues with my Sideshow figures, they have a tendency of being lopsided one side or the other at the hips. It'll take some doing but I've managed to get mine standing strait. What I think you should do is pick the figure up and straighten out the upper, middle, and pelvic pieces. Then holding the torso tightly in position, push the legs over at the hips so that they're straight under the body. If that doesn't work, just pose him in an action stance.
I did have one major problem with a Sideshow figure once that hasn't been mentioned. I bought a Gwyllm Outer Limits figure direct from Sideshow, it's box was sealed so there was no tampering. Once I got him out of the box I couldn't get his right leg to move at all, so I applied a little pressure and the leg completely snapped off. I looked at the joint and there was dried glue pouring out of the hip joint. someone at the factory got a little too anxious with the glue that day. So, Sideshow has released flawed products before, it wouldn't surprise me that they screwed up on one of your figures.
I never tried to get a replacement Gwyllm since they were sold out I didn't bother.
I plan on using my $10 off coupon to buy a replacement SSC body soon.
