I commented on facebook about the elbows that cracked on the M33 of my Boy Dark figure. So, I recommend you keep him in a relaxed arms pose. Also, the goggles tend to leave black paint all over the place if mishandled. Be careful when you put them on or remove them.

Did you not maintain the Phicen body? You're supposed to regularly apply talcum powder/corn starch at least one to two times a year when using those bodies. At least at the exposed areas.

Are you kidding, is there really that level of maintenance required???

Oh shoot! I have a few P/TBL bodies that I'm using for my comic Ms Marvel figures and if I didn't wander in this thread I wouldn't have known to maintain them :Flush Coincidentally I have corn starch at home 😅

Nope, not kidding at all. That's why usually most Phicen/TBLeague bodies have that white, powdery substance on them when they're fresh out of the package. Helps keep them from drying out and cracking overtime. And if you're going for an arms bent pose, it would be best to every so often, let the arms relax at a neutral position for a couple days to take the stress off the silicon and prevent the elbows from splitting.

haha well you don't have worry about them if they're fully clothed. But in the case of the Riddick in question, since he's wearing a tank-top, it would be helpful to lightly pad the exposed arms and clavicle/neck areas with some talcum powder/corn starch with a soft paint brush or foam pad/brush at least 1-2 times a year and that should help them last longer

Thanks for the info and tips Gipetto! (y) :duff Of course leaving seamless figures posed one would be cautious, but I'll make sure to apply the starch to them since well Ms Marvel's suit and my other bashes leaves some areas exposed lol

no problem! and of course-Classic Ms. Marvel! she's got the exposed limbs, I forgot. :slap Was thinking of modern comic version that's more in-line with the MCU look

I’ve never had to reapply powder to any of my TBL bodies a couple times a year (aside from after cleaning with water), and I’ve had many of mine for over 10 years. The real issue with these things is light and humidity (and yes, keeping stress on the joints will cause issues) — but again, much of that also depends on the other two factors I already mentioned. If you can’t keep these figures (any of them really, not just the seamless) in a dark, relatively cool, room with even humidity, you’re screwed. It’s why so many have trouble with pleather cracking. Not one of my figures has had cracking pleather, cracking TBL bodies, etc., because I have my stuff in a room with blacked out windows that stays roughly the same temperature/humidity all year round, and I’ve been a collector for several decades.

I think Riddick's eyes look so cool that I'm sure I'll be displaying him without the goggles. Thanks for the heads up on the cracking issues with Phicens!

If this figure doesn't ship via AliExpress (store I purchased from is in China) until Dec. 6th, odds are I'm not getting this by Christmas, right? eBay looks like it would take even longer.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea! I don’t think I am up for that level of care. I don’t think I’m up for much more than keeping the environment (finished basement) my figures are in dry, and keeping them enclosed in a display cabinet out of direct sunlight 😃

Thanks for sharing your experience too Stryker! I guess with collectibles environment plays a factor.

I’m shocked cleaning with water hasn’t had negative effects. I tried that with my first Phicen body years ago before they had the stainless steel endoskeleton and that pretty much ruined it. Glad yours have been ok. For me, after one bad experience, I rather not take the chance. Those bodies are so expensive that I don’t mind mine doing a little maintenance. It doesn't hurt to take a little precaution. Glad yours have survived though! :hi5:

Some more pics of Riddick with the Phicen M34 from FB.

I think it definitely works for the "Dark Furyan" figure as Diesel had more mass in that film. But for me, I'd prefer the M33 on the "Boy Black" figure. The forearm guards on the M34 Boy Black figure are so tight they look like occlusion bands. Guess that's why he's so vascular

We definitely need an updated Riddick figure from CoR, though.

Chronicles of Riddick is definitely my favorite film among the three, by far. I love that movie. That’s really the figure I want. But this figure looks damn cool to me. It’s probably the most interesting in terms of costume and accessories as well.

Likewise. Really loved Chronicles of Riddick, the Anime movie Dark Fury and the 2 games Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena.

Darn, the store I ordered this from on AliExpress flaked out on me.

What's a reasonable price to pay for this figure "used, like new" on a FB group?

Pre-owned ones are going for below $200 not including shipping on eBay, just gotta keep your eyes opened. I’d suggest doing a “saved search” so you’ll get notified when a new one pops up for sale if you haven’t already. One just recently sold for $80+shipping. Brand new ones are going for over $200 though. Hope that helps give you a gauge on what to ask for if you’re going to try FB groups
