Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

Honestly tired of waiting. Years of collecting the whole line till now and its not even completed. How long after Jean will we get our next xmen pf? Honestly why the delay since other sculpt like catwoman got made and up for preorder right off the bat (no pun intended) completely unknown to us. I have all the xmen pf n was beyond keen to complete but now and thinkin if I regret when other pieces are being made and space is a constraint.

It'll come. At-least you know she's coming this year so I'm guessing there saving her for SDCC. I know how frustrating it can be waiting for a character you really want. I've been waiting for a Dare Devil PF for so long now :/

I somewhat agree with this.

X-Men PFs, specifically the 90s/Claremont/Jim Lee line up, have been years in the making. We're awaiting Jean, and still no word whatsoever on the characters missing from that particular roster: Beast, Iceman, Prof. X, Storm in White, Jubilee, Bishop and Archangel. That's still half the team. And PFs are on their way to double the cost of what Wolverine and Gambit cost. Getting the last members of the roster could be tough!

Meanwhile DC, a newer license being produced after the start of this X-Men line up, is pumping out characters and seems pretty dedicated to the JLA (although we don't know when the next JLA piece will be either, we've seen working designs for Flash and Aquaman). Yeah, it's the JLA, top level and most powerful for DC, but really, in terms of mainstream popularity most of the JLA outside of the Big 3 don't have the popularity of much of the core X-Men members.

The ball needs to get rolling on finishing off the 90s line up, and as much as I like the Storm PF, I'd rather SS get the rest of the 90s roster before doing anymore 70s or modern costumes. The X-Men PFs could be the most cohesive line up SS has done in terms of all the characters in costumes they wore during the same era to make a complete team. This is how the LoTR PF collectors feel about SS not completing the Fellowship in PF... in these cases SS needs to finish what they start!

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I know on Statue Forums Igo was getting opinions on the pose for a Wolverine PF (Brown outfit), might be the next one after Jean. I would love to have those two to go with my Storm PF...

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

Sideshow does not have the best track record completing or sticking to certain lines. I believe they start off with a plan and with the best of intentions, but either new liecenses or other projects get in the way and the excitement shifts to something else. It happens all the time.

Right now, it seems to be all about the Court of the Dead along with some DC. Everything else from Sideshow seems to be background noise to me. That includes Marvel which overall as a license just doesn't excite like it once did. Sure, every once in a while you get a stand out piece here and there, but to set yourselves to complete lines with Sideshow is a long term proposition. They can quit it at any time as they have done before.

Based on Marvel movie success, (specifically ironman and avengers) they'd be dumb to ignore it. I think days of futures past and asm2 will prompt more sideshow work of those brands.

Comic movie stuff will continue to be made because it's relevant to what it's happening now.

I was refering to the comics based statues that seem to be more enduring. Those are the ones most sought after pieces after many years.

Say what? :lol

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I've given up on the idea of a complete X-Men roster because I don't like half of the X-Men PFs they put out, and I won't buy something just because it's the only option. In fact, when deciding to collect Sideshow, I gave up on the idea of having any "complete" sets; I buy what I like, pass on what I don't, and hope that by the time I run out of room or the desire to collect, I'll have owned most of my favorite characters. I try to look at my collection as an accumulation of individual pieces that I like, and not a set or series of sets that have a completion point.

The DC line is picking up some steam now, but it has been slow going. There wasn't even much of a showing at SDCC 2013 for DC; it was mostly a ton of Marvel pieces, with Sinestro and the Joker bust being the only main reveals at the con.
