Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

only the EX. does, and you'll need somewhere's around $1500 clams to get that one, and then some of them have lights that don't work all the time. Though usually that's cause of bad connnections and is usually fixable.

Add it to my Spidey Comi, Spidey v Hulk and others I'll probably never get cause there's no way I'm spending $1K on a statue :/

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I like light up features used properly...lightsaber lightups are a must if you ask me. also, any newer ironman without lightups is a fail IMO. Cyclops PF is pretty awesome with the lightup eyes and if superman pf has red lightup eyes, that would also be epic. in this specific case, i can do without.

Cyclops was the first one I thought about. For him it makes sense since his eyes constantly glow in the comics and for the most part always glow.

But I'd even argue no lights for Superman. His eyes sometimes glow red as well, but heat vision is just one of his powers, not his most prominent ones (flight and strength). His eyes are mostly regular looking, even before and after using the heat vision. Lightsabers are a must though.

I think if it's something not entirely characterized by glowing with light, leave lights out of it.

The facial anatomy on the visorless Cyclops with the light up feature was SO bad that it actually almost terrifies me that SSC might go that way with Superman. Plus isn't it just ONE more thing that can brake on your statue...:slap. Has there ever been a REALLY amazing light up feature with a characters eyes who's actual face wasn't partially or completely obscures (aka IronMan)

In all fairness, you can chalk that up to Tony C's 'mad skillz'. No wonder his subsequent PFs have had their headsculpts done (or redone) by Trevor Grove.

I agree, that face isn't bad because of the light, it's bad because it was sculpted bad. I have a Regular Cyclops and although I'd be ok with no lights in any statue the Regular head is fine enough.

But collectors can't resist an Exclusive. It was "so bad" but at the end of the day those who complained bought it...what kind of message does that send?

i hear ya, sadly a lot of my collection i've had to spend that much over the years playing catch up, but the nice thing is that most of them same pieces have increased in value since i've purchased them.:yess:

The guys who got on early are the lucky ones. And subsequently the same ones who always ***** about high ES :)

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

Is it time yet? I have no clue where I will put her, or who with, but I want her!

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I hope she is not sculpted by Tony C. No offense, but his pieces generally come out a mess (Psylocke, Rogue, Spider Woman).

I really want Jean to be sculpted by Mark Newman, whose pieces always come out phenomenal (Storm, She Hulk, Vampi, Scarlet Witch).

I also hope Emma is sculpted by either Mark or Tim Miller (Lady Death, Lara Croft, Ms. Marvel).

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

Would be an extremely easy pass if Cipriano's sculpting this, especially since I also really detest Jim Lee art/designs. However, if Mark's secretly handling this project, I'd plonk my money down in a heartbeat. See the contrast?

More interested in the Phoenix (and Dark Phoenix?) comiquettes though. Love the out-of-control Jean. Hope that Tony does not get his ****ing paws on that project.

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I'm disappointed this isn't going to be a Dark Pheonix PF, but I'm still excited to see how it turns out.

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

Its safe to say this positively is gonna be shown at Comic Con right? Just her and World War Hulk are the only 2 from the calender that haven't been seen so

You really can't be sure of anything with Sideshow. Chances are likely, but not guaranteed.

Re: Jean Grey - Jim Lee Era

I am really dying to see this piece. I can only hope we see it at SDCC.
