To be honest, if XM announces any plans to do a Jean Grey I'd be tempted to cancel this one....

They are doing phoenix

Oh yes they are and she will be mine

:) I'm going to get it too

If she looks as good as the rest of their line up.... There will be lots of peeps that get her

Ugh... now I have to rethink my x-men strategy....

What sort of Fresh Hell did I just walk into about Phoenix, Give it up, Link, where are you getting this info from? don't be shy Speak

I am happy that some other companies are getting into the 1/4th Marvel business because sometimes it feels like Sideshow isn't giving it their 100%; if they are doing a classic 1/4th Phoenix, I will be a very happy customer!

My point was that like the Cyclops PF, I'll never use the EX head so no rush to buy it and can easily pick the reg up later if this thing comes out better than anticipated.
This is my thoughts as well. Sideshow's golden days of "EX or Fail" just don't have the same urgency that it use to. The last EX that I saw that I HAD to have was the Kirby Red Skull PF. As far as Cyclops goes, I sold mine awhile back simply because his base looked so goofy around the other X-Men (and Cyclops is my favorite Marvel character sans Captain America).

Cyclops ex head is .... who approved the sculpt :horror
This is the truth...

with shipping to your door, yes
Wow, that is crazy high. Honestly, I don't mind paying more if I really want the item, but for that type of cash I would have to see it in person. The issue for me is that I feel like Sideshow's Jim Lee Jean Grey is just 'meh' and I don't want to risk dealing with QC. If they are going to increase their price, they better be upping QC and upping the wow factor of their product. I have been collecting Sideshow since 05/06, but after the Ironman maquette paint slop & Rogue's eyes paint nightmares the Psylocke paint cracking was kind of the 'final straw' for QC issues to me.

the latest statues have been pretty much perfect

you wanna pay $800+ for it out of the gate?

Is that how much the XMstudios 1/4th run for?

Yeah, that price is just too much for me. I can justify for 610$ shipped for my favorite comic character, but... I can not justify 800$ for a cap I feel is equal or lesser quality to the sideshow one. Please don't bash me for that statement. It is just opinion. I love the premium format cloth aspects, the portrait on cap is phenomenal. Now don't get me wrong, XM's also looks great. I understand people picking it over the SS. XM pose is awesome, flag is a plus, quality, and packaging are cool too.

But, in my eyes, the Cap sideshow statue is what I think captain america would be like. In my eyes he wouldn't be standing on rubble, holding the flag up. He would always be fighting, winning, and signaling the troops to advance more. I feel like XM studios sculpt makes captain america seem so arrogant like, "america rocks!!!"

When in fact, in the comics, he would be happy to win a battle, but sad about the lives lost.

Idk... I'm just a nerd. :medic

That nearly broke me too but im glad I stayed with it, I have been exceptionally satisfied with some of their recent releases Shak Ti, Batman and Superman and Widow have all been stellar. Seems like SS is better than ever later.

I believe this is XM sketch of Phoenix their doing... So I would say it's probably a ways off but they're ahead of SS who has nadda so far...

After reading that the XM guys have basically team up with a factory in China where they pay more to make sure QC is high, plus they have even sent their painters over to the factory to train the factory painters to make sure they get the small details right like the eyes.... So If this is going to be the standard for XM I don't mind paying $800 for a high quality - low es - killer poses - extras..
