Some is definitely the operative word there, but not 500 exclusives. I really do love then entire piece aside from the paint apps on the face. Yes those raw sculpt images look amazing. But like others, I don't have $250 base price plus paying a commission to correct poor paint. Really gutted about it. The piece overall is something I want to add to my collection. Love the pose, the sauntering, everything really but the face paints.

Also, only my opinion, but this one should have fallen at $225 and been a bit more limited. Only 350 Legolas, but 500 Arwen? Why? As a companion piece to Aragorn?

$150. tops. ex with a necklace? sorry crew but this whole package is incredulous. i'll predict that she'll (ex, reg, whatever, they're both the same) easily go for under a $100 in the spring of 2013. SSC certainly can't get these perfect everytime, however, i find it a little disconerting that this would even pass through the quality control office as acceptable to put on the market. alas, josh, i was not at SDCC, and didn't see what it looks a la real-life; all we have is what they've released in these photos but, regardless, i be done slammin this sculpt any longer as i'm getting obnoxious about it even to myself. i you think it's worth $250, buy it. if you don't, don't, as somewhere along the line some control of both costs and quality can only be realised by where we collectors offer our money in support of how, where, and what is produced.

These statues from anyone will never be $150 again. That time stopped oh 5-6 years ago easy. I agree with you if you like it buy it and if you don't skip it.

And get on the SS FB page and tell them to sort the Arwen paint-job out!

they block any comment that's even remotely negative and only post the fanboy raves "soooo awesome!!" etc.. it's pointless.

SS is a large corporation now, they couldnt give two **** about our opinions or complaints about edition size (check the joker thread lol). Their only goal is to extract max money out of us.

The only complaint is to vote with your money.

Hmmm...not entirely true.
I can count at least a dozen negative comments for the Arwen statue on the SS FB page.

Does anyone have the unpainted raw sculpt pictures that were running around the board a couple months back? Please post them if you do. Or link to them at least

A bit late I know, but I though I would pass it on, for what it is worth. This is the full image of the unpainted Trev sculpt.

I must say, I don't think this is the sculpt used in the prototype images we have seen so far.

What do you think?

They block comments that are not constructive. If someone goes on there and calls it an abomination without stating why they feel that way or calls it man like those probably are going to get deleted. constructive criticism are comments like I don't like the cheeks they need to be smoothed out to get the proper likeness or what Wetanut said about adding a little darker tone to the lips. If I had gone to parents of my students with what some here feel is constructive criticism they'd have had my head.

At least you head will look like you.

I guess you could be right bill, maybe it's another sculplt.

that is not the same sculpt. you can tell by the hair above her left ear. plus this one actually looks like Liv Tyler where the one they are given us does not.

Grrrr.... I'm not understanding this at all. That raw sculpt looks amazing, and yes, different from what we have been offered. I want to get to the bottom of this.

And damn, I'm looking at picking up a regular from BBTS with credit and at $185 she still seems too high to me. If her face looked like that raw sculpt this would have been ordered for me first thing last Thursday!

I really would like some reasoning behind the change. Guess I'm going to have to fire off an inquiry to Sideshow and hope for a response.

I think she may be cheaper down the line too bro, if you wannt take that route.

What kind of BS statement is that?

I understand you are frustrated with this piece not being up to your standard but making a completely generalized and uneducated comment on their official message board is out of line, IMO. Not all things can be controlled and we are not always meant to have all the answers. Welcome to being an adult.

Many of us have not only seen first hand how generous this company is in many ways (not just giveaways) but know how much they truly care about their fans and our opinions. They are a standard above the rest and if you can't see that because you are unhappy with a product then I don't know what to say.

I am curious to know how well other companies listen to you though!

:lol

My take. The ex theoretically holds its value better than the reg. If you don't care at all about the ex feature (poster, unexciting accessory) then save your money and buy the reg 6 months after it is released. There are always people that regret buying something but don't want to lose the NRD. They go through with the purchase, life happens, interests change, cooler things come on board and they are willing to sell for a song. You have to have a little patience here but I'd much rather wait 6 months and potentially save 100+ dollars. Remember that with very few exceptions there is strong downward pressure on prices and soon enough people will be all about Bilbo and the dwarves and not Arwen and Legolas.

Man, at $185 thats a steal. I'd jump on that without a second thought.

That's with for a reg using 50 bucks of credit that could be put towards something else. The reg is going to be cheaper down the line for sure.

You've already jumped on the Ex for full price so of course you would.

Depends on how much one values LOTR. Fury is really into this line and from what I've gathered a fairly serious LOTR fan.

Yeah, the Ex was worth it to me. I'm just stating I think $185 is a good deal for a piece I think is really nice.

Aragorn reg was for sale in the forums for 150, no takers.

Gandalf ex was for sale in the forums for 200, no takers.

185 for Arwen, eh not a great deal.

Being a serious fan does not mean spending stupidly. Too bad Josh can't read any of my posts because he is ignoring me. :)

Ok so people here didn't bite at those prices. Doesn't mean that those weren't good deals for some really good pieces. I don't feel if I buy something at retail I'm spending stupidly because I'm getting what I want out of my purchase.

I can read your post now. :wink1:
