Let's not open that can of worms again....you'll have 25 pages from amateur scriptwriters who think they can out Lucas ol' Georgie boy himself. Regardless of how we feel about the prequels and whether you think he was off his nut, he followed whatever was floating in his mind to its natural end.....damn it I just went and push that lid open a bit. :lol

Hey, I'm sure most of us would like to change a few things about the Prequels...

It's been nine years since Episode 1 and that's the first revision I've been able to come up with that I liked more than the real thing.

It is fun rewriting the prequels, but there'd be nothing to rewrite if they hadn't been made (by the only person who could have).

As far as Grievous goes, I was fine with him. I just wish he was a little less bumbling and a little more menacing.

As far as Asajj as a replacement for Greivous/Dooku...if you are going to replace them you might as well have used Maul.

:maul

I'd use Dooku right up until Anakin takes his head. Ventress could have kidnapped Palpatine, and Ventress would duel Kenobi in the end. Everything else would be the same.

But I had no real problem with Grievous either, but I think Maul died where he should have. Dooku was a better character for the Episode 2 role. He had the brains to perform the entire Separatist show, and he had the class. I can't imagine Maul doing anything more than grunt work. Sidious' fist, as it were.

Ventress played that part to Dooku. Where he wanted to keep his hands clean, she was the face of the Clone Wars atrocities. So she and Maul have that in common, but she was a villain on a much larger scale than he had the chance to be. In the end, I think she was more of a monster, and more dangerous. Kenobi got repeatedly owned by her in the comics or novels, and when it comes right down to it, Kenobi owned Maul when he was just a padawan.

:stick

i would've liked darth maul to be the main villain in the prequels with asajj his apprentice. ventress could've been developed enough to take some of dooku's political agenda and have darth maul be the "less forgiving" sith. remember in the animated show that dooku never gave her the sith title so this could probably still keep true with the rule of two.

I always thought Grievous was going to use James Earl Jones' voice. That way, Palpy uses the same voicebox for Vader or something. Would've been nice to hear JEJ's voice for more than 3 lines.

I don't do Star Wars (although I would do a Stormtrooper PF :wacky) but if I did, I would be happy with this announcement. Cool choice of figure.

You mean the Grievous from Clone Wars :D

:lecture:lecture:lecture

You really have to have watched Clone Wars to understand why Greivous was such a ****** in ROTS. I CW, he was extremely bad-*** until Mace crushed his chest like an empty tin can. This is why he was all crippled and wheezing in the flick. They probably should've touched on this in the movie for the peeps that didn't watch the 'toon!

It's also written in the book, Labyrinth of Evil which leads right up to the start of ROTS.

Oh yeah? That's cool, another reason i need to finally read that book ...it's been sitting in my "to read" pile for years now :monkey3

George told Genndy to do that to explain the cough. It wasn't planned...it was half baked as all of Lucas' ideas in the PT.

Huh, that's interesting. Not knowing that while I watched it though, the scene seemed liked it fit pretty well in the 'toon and I thought it was a nice touch. I would have never known that Genndy was "forced" to throw that in there.

Lucas says Grievous´coughing is a side effect of his new cyborg nature in the EPIII audio-commentary. Mace crushing Grievous´ chest was Genndy´s idea.
