Since this Ash is from Army of Darkness, I thought I would post some screen grabs from the Anchor Bay Limited Edition DVD.

One thing I guess I'm confused by is if the PF is of Ash after he escapes the pit, why isn't he as dirty. Sure, Bruce has a pretty face with a chin that could kill and the fact that Army of Darkness was shot out of sequence and the Raimi and his crew didn't know how dirty Ash would be when he crawled out of the pit.

If this is pre-pit Ash, then why does he have his chainsaw attached? He gets captured right away and it's removed or we are to assume it's simply fallen off when Wiseman picks it up. Unless this is supposed to be Ash from Army of Darkness by way of Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn. *Sigh* I don't know... Sideshow's got me confused, maaan!

As much as I would like to get the Ash PF. I just can't. It appears to be a cleaner version of Ash after he's crawled out of the pit, squishy boots and all. Yes, his shot gun is not being held in a screen-accurate position. It looks like he's handing it to another flying deadite from the end of Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn. He's leaning forward for crying out loud. Why? And he looks drunk or maybe

I'm sorely disappointed. This was going to be the one to get, the last one even though my girlfriend, if she ever saw it -much like if she saw my Leatherface PF, would not be very happy to say the very least.

Ash, pre-pit.

The pic above shows Bruce in a pose I would have taken second, had they done it right in the first place. [Will Sideshow change months of hard work just for us? Probably not. Why are we posting pictures and comments such as this? Yes, it's criticism.]

As for the ending of Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn. If they are claiming Ash to be their savior. When in Army of Darkness he is... Argh. Nevermind. I'm nitpicking.

Great screen grabs, NSF. :rock

I'm getting him no matter what. Yes, he's a little too clean and the other things (does the PF have the scratches on his chest?), but at this point I don't care. I just want my Ash PF!

even with his faults i'm getting him....man i'm glad i'm not a obsessed fan of the films, because it seems those are the people not getting him.

Oh, I'm obsessed! Maybe even possessed. :chew

For me, and I think SSC's thinking, is that for a PF you don't necessarily want a scene accurate figure (ala "pre-pit" or "post-pit" Ash) but an idealized version of the character in a memorable pose. Most of us think of Ash with the chainsaw and the boomstick, so that's what they've done.

Same here... It's not so much an exact pose from an exact scene... It's just an artistic representation of Ash in a memorable pose. You look at it and you instantly recognize Ash from the Evil Dead series.

That's what I'm feeling. only thing that bugs me is sometimes the face looks off on certain angles from the pics. But not too much, no more than some other PF's. Ask my wife, she thinks my Darcula SSE PF, from certain angles, looks like Eugene Levey.:lol But how can I say from pics, overall I like it and it will be 1 of the few PF's I own.

Are you sure she's not thinking of Joe Flaherty as Count Floyd? :lol

No I made that SCTV reference, she really thinks it looks like Eugene Levy, well..not REALLY, but she likes to mess with me.:D

I got Ash too and can't wait to have it, He will be one of the PF I will own which are not related to Star Wars and LOTR... I will be getting the Lord of Darkness from Legend too.

I totally agree as well.
