Not sure if this is proof of it being an ED2 shot. But I am sure it is from ED2.

I was kinda waiting for someone to bring this up. Jaws is right, that's an Evil Dead 2 promo shot.

Why is he leaning? Looks to me it's because he leans during the boomstick speech when he lifts up the shotgun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYJsXAtSoNc

The neck and the lean look about right to me. He does need to be dirtier though.

Doesn't matter though, he's ordered and he's not getting cancelled unless I find a really good deal elsewhere.

I'm not sure I see the relevance of the ED2/AoD comments. AoD begins right where ED2 left off (mostly), and both the chainsaw hand and the boomstick figure just as prominently in AoD as they did in ED2.

And, he does strike almost the exact same pose during the boomstick scene of AoD. It just isn't shown in a full camera shot on screen. So it works fine for me. :D

I also agree that he really needs to be dirtied up. I hope I don't have to take him out in the yard and roll him in the mud myself. ;)

Why does everyone complain that the PF is skinny, when all the movie stills are even skinnier?

I'm honestly baffled.

Also, his stance might have something to do with the mass of the rifle protruding to the back of him -- his pelvis has to thrust forward for balance. I don't find that an issue, and I love Boba's stance, so I guess I'm weird that way.

Agreed on the need to dirty him up and make the costume match the stills more closely. But that's not apparent from the piece itself, just when you compare it.

If I were a bigger Ash fan, I'd order this piece in a heartbeat -- even though I find it positively gross to have a man's armpit staring at me on a daily basis.

Sorry to pitch in so late, but I saw El Topo at Cannes last year, with Jodorowsky in attendance. It was an HD screening of the digitally-restored print, and it looks just about perfect -- no scratches, no aging of any kind, and no cuts.

I couldn't make it to the screening of The Holy Mountain, but I assume it was on par. These are the prints that will be used for the DVD and HD releases, and they're pure joy. :joy

It must have been very cool to see El Topo on the big screen. Did Jodorowsky actually speak about the movies? To tell the truth, I didn't know he was still alive.

I've had bosses who seemed like total armpits who had nothing better to do than keep an eye on me! :monkey4

I can't wait for Ash's armpit.

I like showing off my Evil Dead Knowledge;).

Anyways, my point was that it is referenced from ED2 and while I have no complaint there, I wanted to point out that Bruce/Ash was skinnier in ED2. Thus th PF was correctly done. For AOD he put on some muscle mass. As I already stated "while I like ED2 best. Bruce looked best in AOD, so a tad more mass please."

Plus everyone was calling it the boomstick pose and it's not. It's the "I just kicked some deadite ass" promo pose. ;)

My point exactly. But I want the better shape Ash from AOD. That's all. Keep the outfit and everything. Just some more Muscles.

It's funny to watch the first two movies and see how young and skinny Bruce was back then.

Just rented The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness.
Gonna be a fun night.:chew
I havent seen The Evil Dead in a long while.

RENTED??!?

You don't RENT these movies. You OWN them. (And, if you're an OCD fan like me, you own multiple versions of each :D)

I gotta wonder looking at those 2 shots if anyone at sideshow did the same thing and thought to themselves..."They're gonna cream us on the boards over this." I know I would have. I think I could maybe even get over the giraffe neck if he didn't look like he was going to fall over. So bummed out!:monkey2

While I can understand your problem with the lean, there is no "giraffe" neck. Look at the flash comparison you posted. That's EXACTLY how Ash's neck looks in the movie still. You can't blame Sideshow for reproducing Bruce's actual physique.

I think the lean is there for dramatics. Just a more dramatic stance. Like "HAH!" Whatever, I think if you don't like it, then no big deal, you're no lesser a fan. I do like it, it's mine and I'm glad.

The neck just looks long in this pose. If you did the measuring it may not be. I just think in combination with the pose it looks funky. I'll ***** and moan, but I love the movie so much, I'll probably end up buying it anyway!!:D

Hail to the King baby!

Yeah, same here.... everytime I see ED2 and it gets to the end... I just think about how different he looks in AOD. Dude was really thin in part 2. :lol

I'm still very excited about this PF.... I know it will change a tad in production, so no worries there. And it WILL be dirtied and painted and displayed proudly on my shelf!! :rock

I'm an ED fan, and I think it looks okay, (and I don't care about the lean) but the likeness isn't anywhere near good enough for me to make me want to buy it.

This figure also proves what a lie some SS rep told when they said they couldn't give the Buffy PF anything beyond a simple black dress and a stake because all the money went into the body. The unique upper body sculpt on Ash certainly cost more than other PFs to make and yet Ash gets a gun and chainsaw with a book as exclusive (like Buffy).

Yeah, a real giraffe's neck is longer...not by much mind you, but it is longer! :lol

Quick question - if this is just the prototype, wont SSC just fix up the small problems before the real thing comes out? I mean we are talking about little and EASILY fixable things here that will make the ASH PF a million times better. I cant imaging they could ignore that?

Not that it matters but is this not a publicity shot from Evil Dead 2??

I mean it was the end of EDII were we see that the castle is up on the hill behind Ash. In AOD the castle was not in the same area that Ash landed.

I was thinking this because in all the shots that everyone has been posting I thought to myself that Bruce looked a tad skinny. He got into much better physical shape for AOD.

It is not from the bomstick speech. I am sure of that much.

So I guess my point is that I hope he gets a bit more mass.

This pic IS from [the end of] Evil Dead II. His hair isn't long enough and look at the fresh cuts and on his torso. Not to mention his blue shirt is mostly stained black from the black blood flood... thing/stuff.
