Yeah, I have the S-Mart Ash from NECA on preorder too!

Somewhere (I think it was on their MySpace blog) they asked the fans if they would buy a "Cult Classics Hall of Fame" redeco of the first NECA Ash with his final battle armor. I don't know if they're going to do it or not but I hope so because nobody's ever done Ash wearing that armor in any scale which is surprising considering how many Ash action figures exist.

I also hope Sideshow eventually makes a "Chainsaw Ash" but I'm not holding my breath. Based on having the license for the PF I'm assuming they could still do 12" figures but that might not be the case.

I have every single Ash & "Army of Darkness" action figure ever made, from the 6" scale stuff from McFarlane and NECA to the 3&3/4 stuff Palisades did (including the ultra-rare second series) to the Sideshow 12" figures (I have one of the 250 exclusive S-Mart Ash's with the pricing gun!) and the Mez-Itz from MezCo and the 18" from McFarlane.

I don't have any of the statues though, I have an "articulated-only" rule when it comes to "Army of Darkness" stuff but I'm making an exception with the PF. It's my first one! The PF's sorta walk the line between figure and statue anyway.

But yeah, my AoD figure collection is pretty definitive!

an interesting tidbit of trivia re: my AoD collection: the retailer exclusive Holiday Ash in my collection was the one Palisades gave to "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" manager/friend of Kevin Smith Walt Flanagan. I still have the box with his address on it (which is propping up the li'l shorties that are the Mez-Itz so they can be seen behind the Palisades figures) so that's definitely an interesting one-of-a-kind item for someone that happens to be a big fan of the "Evil Dead" trilogy and Kevin Smith.

Also, when the PF arrives I'm gonna center the 3 12" Sideshows and place the PF opposite the 18" McFarlane one.

and yes, that is Sam Raimi's Oldsmobile (AKA "The Classic") in Lego form.

Army of Darkness is like the 1 thing in my collection I MUST stay up-to-date on.

Some of those Palisades figures are really rare. Ken Lilly unloaded a bunch of the super-rare second series on eBay after the company went bust and that's where I got them and he cites a run as low as 180 for the 1:64 figures like S-Mart Ash.

I am surprised that the second chance offer for the exclusive is still not sold out . . .

Maybe the exclusive should have been a metal fist that you can swap with the chainsaw . . .

Many people just aren't jiving with the likeness so it's not surprising the exclusive is still avaliable. Having seen it in person I think it looks pretty darn good. Is the likeness 100%? No, but it's still a pretty darn good PF and in the end there aren't that many AoD collectibles (of this type) out there so it has to be mine!

I don't even think you need other horror PF's to get this one. I don't have any other horror PF's and I was first in line for this. AOD is just a classic and in a league of its own. I say get it and if your just not into it sell it. I don't see how this one won't hold its value.

That is how I feel as well. I don't own any other Horror PF's either but this one is freakin Bruce Campbell- AOD! My order was in from second 1.
