Well it finally updated. It literally hasn't left Chicago in the 5 days it's been there. Crazy. Screenshot_20181126-105743_Chrome.jpeg

I am sorry Rzeznikk! Your poor Bilbo is trapped in snowy Ravenhill e.g. U.S. Midwest is having massive blizzard messing transportation up:

Edit: Well, this sux. Apparently a delivery signature was needed, so instead of leaving at door my package got re-directed. Probably won't get Bilbo until tomorrow:( - usually Fed Ex just leaves at door.:(

First am really sorry for those waiting:( and hope Bilbo finds his way home soon. Fed Ex ignored message to send to location close to me:mad: and was a good thing I kept checking - he ended up across town:mad:

But. To cut to the chase - am I glad I have Bilbo #2 on PO.:monkey3
IMO at this price point Holy *&&^%$#:thud:! Or, to put it another way, I almost teared up and if Thorin is this good or better think I will burst into tears.

Just - love the Hobbit movies and it's like having just that bit of Middle Earth. And ASMUS has outdone themselves - staggering detail - love the sculpt, can look Bilbo-puzzled or sad and thoughtful etc. Cell photos but will leave the real photographers on this forum to do Bilbo justice. Beautiful sculpted hair, love the eyes, subtle coloring. He's heavy and sturdy for his size. Joints are tight as they should be so IMO move carefully. There's even detailing on the pipe (Ps. accessories are not taped down so open package over a towel or something - not saying ASMUS should but don't have stuff flying out of box when you open).

As usual from ASMUS the costume is a little miracle of materials and tailoring. OMG:thud:. Yeah, u could do custom etc. and boot up prices but OMG!!! I could spend hours with this fig:love. Thank you ASMUS - way to go, just take my money!!!!!:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

Don't have time to really work with him and he deserves a real photographer but:

And yes the Ring is there it is on one of the hands in the box.:gollum:

Dare yah not to play with this one - I NEED Thorin now + dwarves!! (and ponies....)

Looks wonderful! Congrats!

In hand do you think the head is too big? A lot of people complaining on FB that it looks too big in the pics.

It doesn't look to me like the head is too big. It actually looks like the torso may be too skinny. Maybe a tiny bit of padding through the shoulders would even it all out?

IMO that is more accurate. In hand to me the effect is almost "childlike" with a less developed body. It may not be the head itself but the hair - for sculpted hair - is thick and poofy. To me a bit of padding in the shoulders might be useful but then u have to worry about articulation being affected. I might add some cotton as jacket shoulder pads to beef the body or cut down a 1/6 fat suit as the body's shoulders are average to slim. The whole head seems to be 2-3 pieces if u look hard.

For sure there was nothing that really bothered me - I was more impressed than anything. Another tiny thing is Balin and Thorin's sigs are not on the contract! Tho that may be one of those weird license things like Gandalf not being able to use the names of the blue wizards in the films:dunno

Gotcha. Well that's good. I'm thinking it'll just boil down to futzing and getting the look you want on the shelf. I'm excited! [emoji16]

Just "pinching" the coat/costume at the shoulders and squaring up, a tweak that temporarily squares the coat shoulders - looked good. ASMUS I think wisely had to do some trade-offs re articulation (the neck and head joints, shoulder/arm), head/neck size, and 3 layers of costume. So the coat (haven't tried to take it off) at least had to be a wee bit loose. (I'm just impressed they found coat material that fine - corduroy tends to be a thicker fabric).

I don't have other Hobbits so nothing to compare him with:dunno. For me there's nothing *reasonably* for this fig/price I have to complain about. Now, if ASMUS wants to put out the $1200 dollar "elite" version then I'm gonna want head switchouts and a barrel rider diorama with a working fountain.:monkey3

Hope all get him in soon (and can take better pics than I am able to!:slap)

Great photos, can't wait to get him! It's funny, with hot toys my immediate reaction is get them posed and put them in a detolf. But with Asmus toys I want to take them in my backyard and take photos of them. Can't wait!

LOL hear yah. With the later Caps especially and the *silky* uniform fabric and some other figs - gotta be extra careful u haven't been eating greasy chips or something re stains.

U bet when Thorin comes in:pray: I'll haul him outside for a few photos - hope there is some snow! Also gotta ponder getting a mithril shirt together for Bilbo #2...and go out into the yard and get a suitable walking stick!:)

Need hi def pics of the sculpt before i commit.

Hope Michael Crawford reviews - don't always agree but has great pics and reviews are thorough, honest, and fair IMO. If I HAD to rate this fig I'd say 8-9/10 overall based on price, sculpt, details, accessories. Like Gimli for me there are minor nits. Not sure I have any fig I'd rate as a 10/10 tho. For me that's getting into the custom fig area with real hair wigs, leather boots/belts, diecast weapons $$$$$

Even a great HT release like Dr. Strange #1 his plastic magic effects keep popping off his hands:google and my IM 46 gotta worry about the delicate plastic parts. I'd definitely put this fig over Legolas; equal to Gimli or maybe a 1/2 point less re proportions of hands/head/body.:dunno Gimli's a cheat tho 'coz a lot of padding.

Or - I am definitely keeping my PO on Bilbo #2 *greedy* LOL I need a BOFA version.
