This looks incredible.

I’ve always maintained a very strict “one figure per character” rule that I’ve only ever broken for one character…Obi-Wan Kenobi. With how good this sculpt looks, I think Gandalf might be the second to break that rule. Wow!

I’ve been avoiding this thread so I wouldn’t get tempted to get another Gandalf (I love my GTG), but after popping in to have a peek and seeing the headsculpt….

I purchased this then had to send it back it has holes where the wings and horn should go, they just cleverly edit it out of the photos… which was a bit crap.

With all the current excitement about the InArt GTG, let's not forget that Asmus is quietly at work on their new Crown Gandalf the White. As someone who is happy with their Crown GTG, I personally I am VERY excited to see how this turns out. I feel that with the InArt figure on the horizon, Asmus will come out fighting with this one!

Re-sharing these as the sculpt has definitely gone under the radar. Any updates Asmus?

Excellent looking sculpt, so far.

I've got the original GtW and have been happy with it, to be honest. But it is definitely time for a head sculpt upgrade. The outfit and accessories were well done. I know that some customizers tinted parts of the outfit with coffee or tea to get a closer color to the actual outfit.

Yeah I tweaked mine too. I repainted the vest, belt & scabbard and dyed the over-skirt. I also lightened his beard and hair. I liked it at the time but I feel the whole thing looks pretty dated now, especially after seeing the Viper version.

No reason Asmus can't match the Viper version if they take a bit of care on the tailoring and materials though!

The sculpt looks great…really looking forward to this one. Hoping an update on it is not too far away.

That sculpt is pure McKellen but we’ve seen a great looking Aragorn at this stage and then ended up with something totally different on the production piece.

I wonder if seeing the price of InArts Gandalf will encourage Asmus to push the boat out a little further, increasing the budget and ambition to really compete. They’ve got a bit of an advantage over IA as they’ve actually mass produced a fully rooted, bearded character so will have learned a few important lessons along the way.
