Hope for what? It is the same sculpt, so what are your new expectations? Hair sits decently for a mass produced figure and for its price. You could always make a magnificent custom for 150$+...

I preordered the hs, cause I wanted rooted hair on the same quality hs.
The problem is not the hair, its the hs.
Maybe it's the same sculpt, but definitively the paintjob is worse.
If you don't mind that, then good for you.
The excuse it's a mass produced figure, maybe will fly with someone else but not with me.
Companies need to deliver products as good as almost their promo pics, not mediocre or bad results.
If not, I won't be a returning customer.

It's only one picture, but it seems to me that both the sculpt and paint are of just as good a quality as the original release, but now with rooted hair. That's what I paid for so am hopeful if the production pieces live up to this. Which going by asmus' past record, they will. They usually show mass produced pictures rather than glamour/master pieces.
I can wait!

Yeah I'm pretty pumped. I remember the original Aragorn not being anything like the absolute best pieces that we see on the market for quality but it was still very passable for quality and Asmus has really been upping their game with realism so I'm sure this thing will look just great in hand an replace my old Aragorn head.

I just wish they could do something about the hairline on the rooted hair sculpts. Hopefully futzing the hair will take care of it.

Yeah I know it looks like a five head but if you go back and watch the movies Aragorn has got a lot of forehead, hahahhahah.

I remember this being talked about on the first release.

The dude has a lot of noggin.

Yeah, I know he does, but what I mean is the way the sculpt seems to end then the hair begins. Looks like you can see the edge of the sculpt.

Asmus just posted this. I still have hope!

"Every headsculpt of #Aragorn is trimmed manually and we know a lot of you guys are still waiting to get your hands on him so here's a peak of the final product!"

I think the sculpt looks a lot better than the original but the beard seems to be painted incorrectly. Aragorn has more of a goatee and shaven cheeks than a full beard. He needs more paint under his lip but keeping that lighter spot on the chin. Also, a few stray hairs over the forehead for his fringe would look neat and more screen accurate too!

With rooted hair, there's always going to be futzing. I expect to have to do a little hair styling on my end to cover up that seam, I don't see it as a big deal.

If they get the paintwork on the head as good as Legolas, it'll be an amazing figure to see in person.

Question: How fast is Asmus' customer response time?

I had a weird situation happen. Now, I've never ordered from Asmus directly before, but I've sent plenty of money to Asia for other orders, and never had this happen before.

I got the invoice for Aragorn Slim. I paid it. Then, I get an email from Asmus a few days later saying that the payment had been reversed. I never did anything to make that happen; Paypal didn't notify me of anything, either, but sure enough, when I went in, it had credited my credit card for the original amount with a "payment reversed" message and no explanation. I then sent the money again (using a different credit card now) and it put a hold on the transaction for "up to 72 hours for review." It went through finally, and I emailed Asmus yesterday, but haven't heard back yet (not that I'm rushing them to respond, of course).

Just want to make sure I did it right.

It still has yet to ship? Bummer. At least the headsculpt looks even better than I expected, so still excited!
