Nice try. Much improved since the first few attempts but still glad I chose the ACI Aragorn.

Congrats to those who like it, and it does look like it was improved.
But I just dont see Viggo in it.
I'm sticking to my ACI.
But we know rooted hair is not for everyone, so this is a nice alternative for those that prefer sculpted hair.

I think i understand now. I've meticulously looked at the head-sculpt which 'seems' to be a bit off for some callers. I realised there are many Aragorn throughout the trilogy and many pictures may flash to our minds when we think of the name Aragorn. I would dare say though this entirely depends on my personal image and perception of Strider/Aragorn that the figure looks like when we first see Aragorn for the first time ever. -And the following molding of another 'significant' face draws to our minds when we start knowing more of him. I feel the head-sculpt is off for one minute and the other minute i see the real Strider in the figure. It may be a matter of perspective but that forms the opinion for us.

Perhaps I see the mustache is a bit too thick. And i would prefer the hair on one side to be a bit windy, no flaws for the garments, and I see the Elven cloak but perhaps it is tainted in aggressive olive green rather than the soft blue leaf it really appears, I see a black line on his neck (maybe holding the Evenstar) -is the pendent black anyway? And perhaps Asmus should consider something more of the equipment or anything else than ACI provided, to convince sales.
Personally for Asmus I really like the Eowyn and the Aragorn so far.

And please bring Arwen Undomiel soon, with rooted hair because she is beauty itself.

I think the likeness is great. I'm not sold on the hair sculpt, especially seeing how good real hair can look on the ACI. But it's a definite buy.

Looks good for Aragorn but not for Viggo Mortensen. Sorry. Needs lot of work. You're a little bit out of luck because there's another good sculpt.

The difference is significant.

I think it looks pretty good. Could nitpick to death, but I like the tweaks they did. I'm ready to order this.

His lips must be really hard to sculpt. The likeness isn't the greatest, but I think this is what they're going with.

The ACI Is a phenomenal figure, but pricey at retail and even pricier in the secondary. I really prefer the rooted hair but I think you need someone with outstanding styling skills to really make it work. That said I'm going to also be picking up the Asmus, I don't think the portrait is as strong from the photos, nor do I favor the sculpted hair. However it's likely going to be $100 less, and I really like what Asmus has been doing with this line. Two Aragorns is fine with me. Everyone is going to have a preference, I don't think there's a wrong choice one way or the other.

I think he's just one of those that is hard to capture, in general. Everyone seems to have a tough time capturing his likeness. Even Trevor had a hard time with the statue. (though, he got it pretty darn good)

Ford, Arnold, Viggo...why so difficult?

I think it is the nature of the beast: as we get closer to the source, we realize just how far we still are.

What I noticed was it looks like someone took two fingers and pushed in on either side of the nose pushing his cheekbones in.
