Asmus's outfit, although thin in hand, looks most realistic at 1/6 scale. ACI's jacket as with Sideshow's is way too thick for 1/6 scale.

i just want my Aragorn to look like this image.jpg

I haven't seen Asmus's one in hand, but until then I totally agree with Jokes & Bats and Zombini. (great photo by the way Zombini !) The ACI one can look horrid in bad light and with bad futzing of the hair but coreectly futzed, in hand, it is very impressive and very realistic. Here are the pictures that convinced me to buy one:

To me it looks nearly perfect, and in hand, mine looks like this so I'm happy with it. Nothing against Asmus however, I don't like their version very much, but it's a good thing to have a choice between two figures so everyone can pick the one that looks more convincing to them.
:)

I was expecting high quality in the outfit from ACI based on the price and when i got it, I was not disappointed (except for the plastic boots). I suppose I was expecting less from Asmus (this is my first Asmus LOTR figure and I had heard mixed opinions about previous figures) and I was very pleasantly surprised. I think they are both winners in that respect.

As for the heads - Viggo's got a Picasso face to begin with, and I think wig quality varies through the films/re-shoots, and then of course there's personal perception - I can't count how many times I've read that every HT sculpt looks like Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp and I just don't see it - so I wouldn't hold my breath for a decisively perfect sculpt.

Like Neko said - we've got the best a collector could hope for - options. :duff

Viggo never wore a wig in LotR. That's his real hair, only dyed.

What bothers me about the ACI Aragorn is the lips.

I think both figures are off a bit, but they're both much better than what we've gotten in the past. That's for sure.

It's a wig for the Return of the King re-shoots. He takes it off in the extended extras.

This head would benefit from the hair pulled foward a bit, I think.

That is the best photo I've seen of Asmus Aragorn so far! That puts me at ease, although the wife still isn't convinced. If it looks that good in a photo I think I'll be happy with how it looks in person 😊

That is how it looks in hand, I can attest to that.

Yeah, it does look like that. It wasn't easy to make the crappy phone to accept what I actually see with my own eyes. A lot of bad pics makes this figure look bad.

I also received this figure yesterday. The head sculpt is good, looks like the pic.

What this sculpt needs more than anything is a good hair sculpt. The one provided is very soft and pliable but not very realistic. Admittedly, Viggo's thin hair is very hard to capture.
