This is not going to help but I know I've seen comparison shots somewhere... I'm sure it was in this thread. The Asmus clearly has better skin tone and coloring, IMO the Sideshow sculpt still holds its own even so many years later. It can't be a great sign for the Asmus sculpt now that this thread has recently turned into a discussion about moding this figure with an old Magneto head. Which, by the way, is a vast improvement over what Asmus is selling (unfortunately for the rest of us). That above pic is fantastic!

This is my custom SS Head done by Jacob Rahmier with a combination of SS, Asmus clothing and acc. Sitting on a TTM21 body. One of my favorite pieces.

Love my Gandalf and Bard - can't wait for Thranduil, too.

Thranduil looks great! Really hoping there's a Bilbo Baggins in the works somewhere. Would be awesome to have interchangeable heads and hands to change his age so you could have a Hobbit Bilbo and a LOTR Bilbo in one figure!

I noticed there aren't many people who use the scarf that Gandalf came with. I skimmed through the first Hobbit film and noticed he wears it mostly around his neck and draped over his right shoulder. I tried to replicate this the best I could considering the scarf material is kind of thick and hard to get to look natural. I think it looks pretty decent.

Wow, that looks really good! The only reason I'm not using it is because I thought it was a bit too thick and looked out of scale, but after seeing your pics I may have to give it another shot!

Yeah same here, haven't used it much cause it seems a little too big, what you did looks great though!

What did you use to soften up the hair? Just water? I've had mine for a while but I've been too lazy and too scared to do anything to it haha

Thanks, I used a little water and a cheap plastic comb. Just wet the hair a little bit and gently comb it out. It's not difficult and the end result yields a fuller head of hair that's not all clumpy.
