While I'm a fan of LotR in general, I just need a generic wizard - more than the character of "Gandalf". I wanna built a custom Merlin for my Knight collection for now

Benefit of Gandalf would be that i like LotR too and he could serve a double purpose. But Dumbledore looks more like Merlin for sure hmm. Food for thought.


Edit: I think Dumbledore is indeed a better Merlin. Hadn't thought of him because i never watched Harry Potter.

I just rewatched all the Harry Potter movies with my daughters. I don't know if they'd be to your taste, but I really like the series.

Well, just bought Gandalf so I guess after resisting so long I am going into this line. They will propably put up a slim version in about a week.

Also went for Gandalf as my Merlin. I just don't like Dumbledore much. For half price I might be tempted but for the same price I went with the characrter i like more.

Also bought some lamb wool if I might modify his beard like Cman did. And a blue Cape.

I didn't change a thing except some removal of the hair product that was used and I had to reglue the 'sword-belt'. Still a good looking figure. I have to admit the sculpt shown on the first page blows this one out of the water. I really like the quality tailoring:

Cool... i think that the original ones were just fine, only a bit suntanned... but every improvement and the possibility to buy the fellowship cape are welcomed. Do you think that even sam and frodo will receive the upgrade pack too? I think that sam head nead a replacement too... another cool addiction could be the original gandalf the grey porto with sculpted hair... that would be an instant seller... do you think that you can offer that head too?

If they re-release Gandalf with the original prototype headsculpt I would definitely buy it. I passed on the last one because they changed the head sculpt for the final version. Maybe Asmus would release a Gandalf slim version, a la Saruman, without the stone pedestal, but with original head. Then offer that head as a stand alone purchase option for those who already bought their GtG.

I'm happy with my GOTG too tho *shrug* I'd probably buy a new sculpt if offered - but I think the original is pretty good! And just sayin' again so impressed w. the costumes and materials and QUALITY. The one real ding I would have is use more fiber/hair in the wigs - IMO it's kinda sparse.
