Digging into the shipping restrictions a bit more, and the reason why as a day 1 pre-order here I still don't have mine.

Seems from what Asmus have said that if your on this list, you should have yours.

Its odd that Chunghwa Post feel it safe to ship to say, ship to France for example, which I believe has just gone into a 3rd lockdown and Europe in general is quite far behind in terms of vaccinations and yet the UK doing quite well in that (for a change) we are still prohibited. I wonder how long this will go on, could be six months Asmus are sitting on them.

I don't think it's about how safe it is, but how many flights are flying to and from the country. I guess the more safe a place is, the more likely they can have more flights and travel sooner.

I received my figure from Timewalker Toys yesterday, but unfortunately his pipe is missing, and his staff doesn’t have the holes for it. Anyone get a reply from Asmus on this situation?

No one's heard anything from Asmus.

I don't think anyone's actually asked Asmus though. I think everyone's just waiting for them to post here. You should probably email them and see what they say.

As for the pipe, they were shipped separately to retailers, it's probably in your shipping box somewhere. If you don't see it, contact Timewalker.

BTW, here's my figure with the Sideshow hat. Better fit, and I think the color is closer to the screen prop, more of a bluer gray than the robes.

Yeah that hat does look really good there. Normally I would expect the ideal 1/6 hat to be made of fabric, but I think the Sideshow one captures that more crinkled and sculpted look that the hat actually had, along with that more ragged edge along the brim.

Even if you can get it to fit right, the fabric one just look way too soft and smooth, and reminds me too much of something from an old Hasbro 12" figure.

What we need is a new hat run. That old SS one is shaped well, but has that weird, "low res", chalky paint, cheap mold texture to it. Looks like it's made out of concrete.

I still want to put something in it (like tin foil) to be able to adjust the shape, but as a first fitting it’s not too bad IMO. There’s hope at least!

Timewalker Toys got back to me today. Here's what they said:

Thank you for your inquiry. We are aware of the situation with the missing smoking pipe for Gandalf, but we have not had a chance to send out the notice to everyone who purchased yet.

According to the distributor, the pipes are in the distributor's warehouse in China. We should have them in about a month or so. As soon as we get them, we will send them out to everyone who ordered Gandalf. Asmus forgot to put them in the box at the factory.

The staff is apparently a variant and there is nothing we can do about this.

I'm loving this figure but that makes me laugh.

Don't worry guys, the half of us that got a defective staff ACTUALLY got a "limited edition chase variant" staff that will be worth a fortune on the aftermarket.

I heard back from BBTS as well, and they acknowledged that they've "seen the staff issues a few times and are working on a solution". No idea what that means, particularly since Timewalker indicates that Asmus isn't willing to fix it.

I feel kinda bad, knowing that I'll probably never use that pipe or second staff that's causing so much grief for others here. Although I guess it is always nice to have the extra display option.

How do you forget to put his pipe in the box?? It's one of his most iconic/notable accessories imo.

Have they even said they're going to replace the faulty staffs? If they don't then that's a lot of good will down the drain.
