Great job on it Asmus, I'm pretty easy to please...I think it looks great. Getting harder for me to pass on these figures. Ill always love LOTR!

Wow love the little hairs they added to the face. Pretty awesome to do that. Think Aragorn is next on the list if I remember correctly :yess:

Just throw in another photo while we wait...
see if this is better?

So nasty....

Have to say the likeness is quite off; it's good enough for Gothmog, but I would have preferred a more accurate rendition.

. . . and that is why I wanted them to tackle some of these type of characters first. I like it as a whole and am thrilled to get the chance to pick one up but I can see where there are some things off in the likeness but with Gothmog it still works and I am still happy. Once they move into the human characters it's going to be harder to pull off "wins" if the likeness is not nailed.

Another easy buy for me! Keep it up Asmus!

Before I'm ordering this second tier guy, I'm waiting to see the reveal of Aragorn. I want to know if the line can follow the quality of the Witchking.

Tweak the nose to make it flatter and make the mouth flatter and its pretty much spot on at that point.

I wonder how far out they are on the production run for this guy. If they still haven't gotten approval then this may be a stand alone prototype which might mean there is time to adjust the sculpt. . . . but that also means longer before this figure will arrive to my house.

The one thing about LOTR that to me is a little different is that likness isn't always the most important thing. I picked up a cheap Legolas and did some minor mods (though I did have to put together a Frankenstien body for him) and it honestly looks more like him now than when I took it out of the box, even though the sculpt is 100% stock. I never thought the SS sculpt would fly on my shelf as is but for some reason it's grown on me. Yet with Gandalf I find myself insanely trying to get just the perfect Ian McKellen GTG look. Modding the hat, adding padding to the midsection, picking up new belts, etc. Anyway, when it comes to Orcs, even important ones like Gothmog or Lurtz, close is good enough....

I'm a bit more forgiving with something like Gothmog or some of the other Orc/Goblins. The humans or human like characters I want it as close as possible. I'm not going to go HT collector nuts if its off a bit but as this is the license that means the most to me I won't it as close as it can get. If that makes sense.

Just like me with SW. I understand, for sure.
