Face looks nice! Kind of like a terrible chainsaw accident befell a Who from Whoville.

Like Elvis said, and now you've confirmed -- the body's got to go. It's way too lanky too -- slim thighs and arms. Too bad. But if I can swap bodies on $250 SS figure, then I sure can on a $120 figure.

The body works fine for me. It is not worth paying for an upgrade since I can achievethe poses that I would want. My only complaint is the gripping hands. They are fully closed and you have to slide the pole through to make the figure hold it so poseability is limited with it. It looks visibly fine enough.

The face wounds are perfectly gory that is for sure. I like the whoville chainsaw victim comparison.

I think my biggest complaint in regards to the body is the feet! They are extremely loose, so this figure will be taking spills quite often if he is not secured to the stand properly.

Can't you have him holding his scythe upright -- a third leg of sorts?

If it is touching the ground probably. I have him holding it with two hands upright, it looks really good and makes him look ready for battle. I really like his look and it really adds some display value with the flag behind him. I really am enjoying these niche LOTR orc characters. I need to get around to ordering Gothmog.

Just keep in mind he will be equally frustrating if all you've collected is Hot Toys.

My collection runs the spectrum. I have mostly Hot Toys / Sideshow. I have followed the posts on him and see what I very well could be in for haha. He is one of my favorite Orc characters for sure.

It's killing me because Guritz is sitting in his box in the trunk of my car at work here and I can't take him out to see what I got until I go home for lunch. *watches clock*

Poor Guritz. All alone in the trunk of your car...

Make sure you give him lots of love! And apologize for leaving him alone for so long!

I just inspect at work now. Every time a box comes I get grilled about what it is until I open it. Thankfully they appreciate the art of it.

Inspected. Took pics, will post later when I get back home and sort.

First impression: good and bad -- honestly, he's a bit better than I was assuming after Elvis and jra's comments.

GOOD:

nice outfit -- the red santa suit is much more muted then the cordoroy one Gothmog has. Armor's very nice, not weathered but detailed. Lots of leather here too. Will be fun to redress him.

great head sculpt and paint -- this one is even better than Gothmog because its far more accurate. Love the staples holding the head together. The nails in the skull are actually firm rubber. The skin tone is darker than I was expecting in a good way -- I didn't want him as pale as Gothmog. It's a good, dirty orc flesh color with some nasty teeth. My particular head has a slightly lazy right eye drifting to the left which gives the appearance that he's looking to the left from afar. (its not the iris that's off, its the pupil which can be repainted if a problem). But this might be something to watch out for as 'even eyes' are not something Asmus seems too concerned about.

BAD:

Wobbly feet -- yep, I got 'em too. They'll never hold a pose unless perfectly balanced. It's an easy fix but you shouldn't have to. I planned all along to replace the body so it doesn't bother me, but be aware.

Head pops off easily -- well, on mine anyway. In fact it fell off just from taking him out of the box. The recepticle for the balljoint is misshapened and won't hold. Perhaps some warping in shipping. It may come around once it gets room temperature and resets. Again, this may be unique to mine -- and again, replacing body so not to worried. But be aware.

Really, that's it for the BAD -- it's once again the lousy body we've come to expect from Asmus. If something like this comes with GANDALF, I'm sure we'll hear much more about it.

I didn't toy with the accessories but they look fine. Banner is awesome, pressed flat on a cardboard inner layer between accessories and figure. Strange choice in hands -- open or completely closed. Not much to do except hold something or wave bye-bye. I guess 99.9 percent of people will have him holding his scythe so any extra hands is superfluous.

That's it. I really like this figure. Like the other two, it's gonna take a lot of futzing and some paint-washing to really bring this bad boy to life -- but it's a terrific start. AND a crazy character I thought we'd never see in 1/6th.

I used some electrical tape on the ankle ball joints, it firmed them up just fine. I have not tried taking the head off, but it doesn't seem loose. If I end up doing a body replacement it will definitely be on Gandalf.

Yep, that's one way to fix them. I still have to figure how tall I want him to be next to Gothmog before I body-swap.

The plug in the neck of the head is warped, I can see it, squeezed like a prune. It started getting tighter just from playing with it -- I know all your dirty minds are thinking 'that's funny usually it loosens up when you play with it' -- so maybe the plug will reform. I've had this issue several times over the years and strangely the next morning the issue goes away, so we'll see. But again, body-swap.

How loose was the head? Is it where it pops off with every little movement you make?
And is it easy to put back on?
Haven't gotten to see mine yet... But just to prepare myself.

Pops off with every little movement I make. But again, I'll have to see tomorrow how it works because the problem is a wonky plug that may reshape itself in the middle of the night.

The photos... fresh from box, no futz...

Overview of front and back...

Colors above seem slightly off (purple) so here's one right out of the box...
