Asmus Toys: Witch-king figure

got mine... over all i REALLY like him, but he is not without issue.
The articulated sasuage hands just look bad. but he'[s got plenty fixed pose ones, so that's fine.

and the joints... ugh. Do we know what figure will include the replacement body?

They said Gothmog will have the replacement figure.

IIRC the spokesoman for Asmus on here said that Gothmog will be shipped with one of their own bodies to replace the Kaustik one. So I guess that means if you order Gothmog, he will come with another body.

I think it's great that they are doing it but I think they are going about it wrong. Forcing a customer to buy another figure they may not want to replace a defective body that should have never been used is just wrong to me. Maybe those who purchased The Witch King could send some sort of proof of purchase to Asmus and receive the body would be a better remedy to the situation?

To answer your question in the Gothmog thread. Check the shoulders on your Witchking. Many are saying they can't support the weapons. My figures arms won't stay up and they are not even holding anything.. The hip area is also reinforced with black electrical tape. As bad as that sounds it doesn't bother me as much as the weak shoulders.

I hope that things start improving on this line or it's going to be doomed before it even gets started.

I won't be getting Gothmog myself since I already have the SSW statue. I got the WK figure because I really like the design. As I've said before I don't see myself getting much from this line as my focus is more on the statue end of collecting Middle-earth.

Edit: I guess I should check in this thread more often. Please don't post stupid pictures of these figures humping another figure. Next time infractions will be handed out.

Little bizarre to me that there was a problem with it. Anything from Sucker Punch, or any number of scantily clad, hyper sexualized women (the damn near only kind in this hobby) is more sexualized, erotic and explicit. Go figure. Hypocritical social morays often go over my head.

Its a picture showing off something that you'd see in porn. Totally against board rules. Sucker Punch is has scantily clad women done in a way that is sexy yet respectful. Its not showing someone getting it from behind. Nothing hypocritical in how it was handled at all.

I guess I don't see it as A) "hardcore" or B) that there is anything scandalous about sex. But those are my personal leanings and these issues of mine go much deeper than this. I think most of America and many of the more religious regions of the world are too hung up on sex. It's also interesting to note that had I posted a picture of the Witch king stabbing Barbie in the chest with his sword, or caving her face in with his mace, there wouldn't be a problem with it. To my point about Sucker Punch tho, I'm willing to bet that there are just as many people who would contend that it is anything but "respectful" the way women are hyper sexualized in most of the sci-fi fantasy genre. After all, they only reason they dress them that way is so that viewers can have an easier time imagining those dirty hardcore porn things lol. That's what I meant by hypocritical.

Either way, it's over, I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone if it did. These are just the kind of things my fiance does with my figures now and again... And hell, this was one of the tamer ones. I saw it, thought it was funny and shared a picture without much other thought to it. What can I say? She's got quite the imagination. I'm a lucky guy

And now, since i derailed it, moving the thread right along, I've had Witch King for well over a month now and still he's great. Despite the body issues, his presence just doesn't get old. I still haven't found a proper display space for him though, which is OK. He just stands on my bedside table, either guarding me while I sleep, or thinking about murdering me. Probably the latter. Such a menacing design.

I really hope we hear about gothmog's soon. I want the replacement body, though I'm not looking forward to replacing all the clothes and armor AT ALL. Sounds like a massive chore. If it's anything short of a complete improvement, I may not even bother with it.

Final word on this discussion. The pictures were against board rules plain and simple. What people do in the privacy of their own homes is another matter.

I didn't see the pics but I remember King posted a pic of his nude Frodo giving a hug to his Gollum TTTEE statue. He did it to show the scale to some of us who were wondering about it, and it made us laugh, but I don't remember anyone complaining about it.

Ah but my question wasn't which is better or preferable. It was which is more objectionable, since I assume it was a prudish impulse which got the pics deleted in the first place.

Nobody reported the pics. Because of the actions in the pics I choose to delete them. We've had to delete and have a member delete pics in their collection thread that were of a similar nature. Not to mention we're trying to get Asmus to stay involved with these threads. Not sure those kinds of pics would help to be honest.

When I first joined this board I thought I was too argumentative. I realize now that others are way more argumentative than I am. I'm a pacifist compared to some of you.
