As happened with Assassin's Creed: The Brotherhood, Ubisoft will not consider Assassin's Creed: Revelations as the true third installment in the saga, basically because it continues to revolve around the characters of Ezio and Altaïr.
"Assassin's Creed 3 will focus on another character, and with AC Revelations we're closing the fringes of the story of Altair (the protagonist of first game) and Ezio (protagonist of Assassin's Creed 2 and The Brotherhood).
It seems that Ubisoft wants to link this new installment to the symbolism of the prophecies that revolve around the year 2012, new meeting place for fans to predict from year to year the end of the world. "Many things were prepared with Minerva and Juno, with many details about the plot of the end of the world in 2012. The more we approach the milestone of 2012, the saga is about to conclude his greatest work,"
For this new game we are closing all the loose ends "and preparing" not only reveal much about the plot of the first civilization (Minerva & Juno), but we are closing Ezio's & Altair's stories
In that sense, "we will explain why Ezio is such an important character in the series, what is its real role in this story, what is the role of Altaïr in the destination and what role it plays Desmond in this."
We are creating a link, if you do so in Revelations that will align the destinies of the three main characters in the series "while" we will uncover a lot of elements on these mysteries. "
