For all Marvel's missteps over the past two decades, I'm willing to bet DC would give anything to make those same mistakes now. I know that even with bad costume design here and there, Marvel has their eyes on the bigger picture which 9/10 times will be enough to see them through.

True, but also Marvel just seems to have fun with it's characters whereas DC seem very tentative in their approach.

I mean if a Flash or Green Lantern film was made by Marvel Studios it would amazing as both those characters have so much humour to them. I think DC will avoid this is they ever do them in their own movies.

Even DC/WB's animated movies (colourful and unrealistic) mostly watchable at best :monkey4

They did Green Lantern, it was boring and short-lived.

Not to mention they picked the least funny, most hated, hack "comedic-actor" going and a dead eyed, soulless, talentless shell of a human for the love interest.

I'd rather ********** with tar and sandpaper than have to watch that movie again. Crazy how poorly DC handles their own properties.

I know, I'm saying if Marvel Studios did Green Lantern in their style it would be great as it suits his character. What DC did was horrible mostly.

And when 3d is so good that you can bang your movie actress that will be a reason to cast her again. :lol Until then...

The actors were the best part of that film IMO. It was the script and tone that failed. Ryan Reynolds could've been a great GL if he was given more to work with, same goes for Blake Lively as Carol. The only actor/character that was bad IMO was the villain. Mark Strong as Sinestro and Angela Basset as Amanda Waller were great castings too.

Mark Strong was absolutely great on that role but that lady was no Amanda Waller. I wish they would use C. C. H. Pounder for Amanda Waller. She's a good actress and she already knows how play do the role (she was the voice for Amanda Waller on Justice League Unlimited). Hands down, the best portrayal of the character.

Must be a hard cast for some reason, I think their choice for her sucks on the Arrow series as well.

Marvel gets their own characters and plays to their strengths. They also seem to be pretty good at improvising with their actors and adding their strengths to the overall presentation (at least up to the Avengers). Ryan Reynolds is frat boy funny at best which kind of worked for his Deadpool prior to that desecration in the final act. Hal Jordan needed to have a stoic component and DC/WB just pretended like anything would work given the costume. They also dropped the ball big time in the CGI department.

All true. I'm just hoping Snyder shows more confidence in the characters in his going to do Justice League. Or it could be the biggest pos from DC yet, and so far casting isn't looking promising imo. I'm pointing at you Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg.

Anyway back to the almost guaranteed to be good Avengers: Age of Ultron:

Do you think Whedon will go the army of Ultron's route to have some canon fodder to show off the Avengers abilities and just one main Adamantium bodied Ultron for the final battle? Or just one version upgrading himself throughout the film?

For those of you who frequent the internet and Marvel Cinematic Universe Forums you have probably come across the name Roger Wardell before. For years now, the mysterious “Roger Wardell” has revealed countless spoilers for the MCU. Some reveals proved significant while others were simply shedding light on minor Easter eggs.

While many still debate if what he shares is indeed true or not, we at TCN have found that his track record speaks for itself.

Not to long ago, El- Mayimbe of Latino-Review chimed in on someones personal post about Wardell on twitter, and presumably siding with them on their opinion that his reports are bogus, then he would later go on to report almost identical things that Wardell had revealed almost a month prior.

Recently we were fortunate enough to get in contact with Wardell and he was gracious enough to offer us an interview of sorts with the topic being none other than Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

So without further ado, we will skip the pleasantries and formalities, and lets get onto our conversation.

* * *

Q: Will the Agents of Shield finale take us straight into the events of the Age of Ultron?
A: Well from what I know is that Whedon and the gang will definitely set up the last episode to leave fans with questions and give them answers. Of course the events of the last episode will be valuable information for Avengers 2 (and possibly Guardians) but don’t look at it as going RIGHT into the anticipated sequel.

Q: When will we see Agent Coulson tap into his Kree powers? And will this be featured in the film?
A: Mar-vell will be able to come out, and use his powers, and it will sort of be like a multiple persona type deal, like Hulk and Banner. Agent’s of shield has been suffering with ratings and the show is not sure if it will be picked up for a second season. So due to this, the story of Marvell may be hinted at in the last episode. And during the Age of Ultron, Coulson may not appear but Mar-vell has a great chance to appear and help the Earths mightiest heroes along with the world.

Q: Will Agent Coulson’s death/resurrection be a part of this film?
A: If referring to Avengers 2, No. The early draft that I obtain shows no mention of the team finding out Coulson is still alive.

Q: Other than Agent Coulson/Captain Mahr-Vehl, are there any secret heroes that will be revealed?
A: Most definitely in Avengers 2! This is when all the heroes of the world will come forth and help take down Ultron.

Q: With recent set photos showing Tony Stark and Bruce Banner being all “buddy buddy,” does their relationship come into play during the Hulk vs HulkBuster Iron Man fight?
A: From what I have there are two scenarios.
The concept art that I have seen shows Banner in North Korea. He is there to meet Betty and Doc Samson so Ross wouldn’t find out. Things start to happen near a cybertek building, and Ross’s batch of upgraded Deathlock/Centiped/Extremis soldiers burst onto the scene and attempt to arrest Banner. There are certain things that should be suspicious about all the vets, and ex-military guys that Centipede and Killian used as test subjects. They were all M.I.A. like Blonski was, before being turned into Abomination… Ross has his dirty hands in the Hydra conspiracy as well. That’s how they got knowledge of Gamma radiation for the Centipede soldiers. We’ll return to South Korea later in the movie, as Banner determines this is where the Ultron Network also first up-linked to the satellites through the Cybertek building, so he’ll have to go back there in the end. But Hydra rushes in and tries to ambush Hulk early in the movie. Betty is the one Banner is “actively dating” in Avengers 2…This still pisses Ross off deep down inside. There’s a little bit of anger and hostility towards Shield that has indirectly been caused by Tony. And now Banner is free, and Ross will use his Cybertek connections to gain access to all the cameras there. Both sides still have eyes and ears into South Korea and so do Ross and Hydra. Before leaving there and moving onto what the other Avengers are doing, we see Hulk pummel all the cyborg soldiers, and start his journey back to the Avengers. Then, it moves onto some of the scenes I’ve talked about, not sure which way they’ll be arranged ’cause my knowledge comes from concept art. Due to that, plans might have changed slightly. As seen in set photos the places in which I said each Avengers would be at the start of the film is mixed around. Hulk is in Africa, Cap and Widow are in Korea, etc. But it should remain as the same scenario where would leas us into Hulk showing up in Cap and Widows scene with some of Cybertek/Oracle’s minions following him. And then takes Widow and Cap away from what they’re doing in Africa, which is looking into missing vibranium shipments, which will come into play later in the movie, and in Ant-Man.

Q: Recent set photos have revealed a 1940′s style set that was being filmed on, many began to speculate that Vision would be the time traveler, any light on this rumors? How does Vision play into the film?
A: No. Vision is not a time traveler from what I know. BUT Avengers Age of Ultron is just as much about the real Mandarin and Vision as it is Ultron. In the film we will find out who the Mandarin really is. He’s trying to overthrow the 10 rings group. Bringing him to their leader after “All Hail the King” is just moving him closer to what he wants to do. Which is overthrow the real 10 rings and become their leader. The Mandarin is just a title, it’s more symbolic than an actual person. It’s a title that passed down through time among the real 10 rings group. Mandarin stole the name, and he actually used their real symbols. So they’re furious. But they base their beliefs on Genghis Khan. Hydra and Strucker are obsessed with genetic lineages and bloodlines. They know Trevor is actually a distant relative of Genghis Khan, the ancient warrior-king/spymaster. Genghis Khan was very skilled at using political propaganda to overthrow many countries. Hydra believes Trevor has some of this instinct in him. “American invention, based on a Japanese recipe.” He was hinting things in his speeches. A lot of Ultron’s hypnosis of Jarvis happened secretly in IM3 while Jarvis slept after the Mansion attack. We’ve been shown pieces of how Jarvis becomes Ultron and Vision already in IM3, and how Killian could hack anything including the mind, genetics, and technology. When Tony passed out (or had surgery at the end of the film) that’s when they started messing with his mind in some way, and turned him into “the mechanic”. He likes calling himself the “mechanic” now because it’s an extra personality they programmed into his subconscious. However we saw that the things Tony builds in IM3 often fall apart. They turned Tony into their mechanic for Ultron without the audience knowing. Mandarin subtly programmed and deceived his mind, along with the TV audience, and the entire Marvel audience during IM3….We’ll never see “the big one coming” because of all the tricks he pulled. He began by speaking in hypnotic tones and hijacking the TV signals. But once he has the staff that Loki had he can do even more coloring of perceptions. Killian was already sick of his false faces because he wears many. The true King is Trevor. Killian is Fin Fang Foom and only thinks he gets the credit because he created this version of the Mandarin.

Q: Will there be any nods/cameos from non-Disney franchises like X-Men or Spider-man characters?
A: No. But as they say, “The door is always open.”

Q: Will the Guardians play into this film?
A: Guardians is a very stand alone film. Nothing to do with Avengers 2.

Q: Was the algorithm “Project Insight” actually Ultron?
A: Yes. Like I said before Ultron wants to protect the planet by killing anyone who might someday be a threat, or has the potential to be a threat. Sounds familiar right?
Mandarin is not a threat though because he’s not really with Hydra and he just recognized what Ultron did: Hydra was about to win against Shield…Before Ultron stepped in…He’s their savior, as well as their doom. The only reason he lets Mandarin survive and frees him from the prison, allows Hydra’s prison break plan to go forward, is because he’s almost trying to maintain a balance in the equation between Hydra and Shield. Zola, and Howard Stark are the main creators. Tony supplies it hardware, and Pym gives him a subconsciousness, but Howard Stark and Zola both initially programmed it in different ways, and then Pierce was keeping it away from Hydra even more than Zola programmed in originally. Ultron’s true purpose was to track down Hydra, and identify potential threats within organizations, or to the world. It turns out Hydra is everywhere, but once it is given the wrong command, it turns against Shield, Hydra, and the entire world. All the organizations Hydra spent so long working moles into. It kills Senator Sterns…It tries to go after the president who it knows is with Hydra right now. It gives the leaders/masters of Hydra one option after Hydra is in shambles, and Shield is left in a worse state.. Join it or they all die along with the rest of Hydra. Shield has lost track of the one Helicarier that manages to survive the sudden overthrow of the globe. Ultron already has access to all satellites, could hack the president’s phone for Shield or Hydra’s side, and with Shield in ruins before Age of Ultron, Tony steps up and attempts to rebuild it (as seen in the latest episode of Agent’s of SHIELD) And doesn’t know he just gave it a body.

Q: How was phase 3 stem from this film? Will it be a continuation? Or new stories being told to lead into a bigger plot for Avengers 3?
A: Yes! After the epic events Avengers 2 it will carry right over into Captain America 3 and other Phase 3 Marvel films. You have to remember, the whole world will be affected by the Age of Ultron. Which means that it will be almost like a whole new world in Phase 3. Like I tweeted before, The team splits into two groups because of how huge they will be after Avengers 2.Captain America will start to lead the West Coast Avengers after Avengers 2 and Tony will lead the East Coast team. Captain America ends up with a lot of the Avengers that people think aren’t the biggest and best heroes. And lastly, for anyone who didn’t know yet… Red Skull will return in Captain America 3.

Q: With reportedly Doctor Strange being a key player in Phase 3, will he first cameo in Avengers: Age Of Ultron?
A: Yes it is possible. Like I said earlier, a lot of surprising heroes will show up in Avengers 2. Dr. Strange will make his movie debut in Phase 3 so a cameo in Avengers 2 is quite possible.

Q: Will Hank Pym have a cameo in this film? Thus setting up for his film when is only set to release a few months later.
A: This could go with my answer to the above.

Well that's certainly a lot of speculation, and tbh I don't think the movie will be great if it's all true.

Why the hell can't they admit the f'd up with Mandarin and leave it there.

Not possible. Tho, as I said many-many times, they could just pretend that iStark3 was a rambling speech of delirious Stark to Banner with AoU explaining what really happened.

Well if that guy turns out to be right my excitement for this film just dropped big time. It doesn't sound like Ultron will be realised well and seems to be too many cooks in the kitchen villain and plot wise. I wanted an Ultron focused story with aspects of Hydra and intro's of the new Avengers. I really don't care for IM3 or the Mandarin, and don't want to be reminded of the worst phase 2 film while watching what's meant to be the best one.
