:exactly: he should look like this:

I would've been more than happy if he just didn't have those eyes and teeth.

I can already see myself hating the second half of the movie because of that :lol

His first form is great though, far more creepy

Ultron looks like a big dude, but his design looks pretty simple. I'm surprise they didn't go with something more extreme. I bet this is not his final form. He'll have James Spader's face by the end of the film.

I was expecting something extreme... I hope this is not his final form. They can't show his final form in a teaser trailer... its too soon

Well, on the cover he's one of drones.

Still, I like the design. And **** Bayformers! :lol

I thought so.

I haven't made up my mind with that design, initially I thought it looked stupid, but if he's trying to be more human then it makes sense.

I wish they would've given him a more traditional face though, At least a more traditional mouth. The one from the teaser was perfect imo.

You finicky ****s. :lol

"Eyes and teef, eyes and teef", who cares? He's gonna have like a thousand looks in this one, there will be something for everyone. It makes sense that once he's self aware, he'd evolve to this idealized human form and not an Iron Man rip off (like he starts out). Everything from his creepy, twisted scrap metal, new born self to his "final form" (if that's even his final form) with the glowing eyes looks sweet. Even the blue variants look fine.

Chillllll.

But due to insufficient reference material they will be inaccurate and will immediately require 2.0s

Yup, and probably a year apart from each other too for anyone that misses out. :lecture

I think the eyes are a great touch, it makes it more personal.

The audience connects with the character easier when they can see their eyes.

And I think it's creepy as hell that he's building himself to look more human

True, but for me he could be a cube with legs and I could still feel connected to the thing if there is good level of development for his motivations and feelings

This. As a concept artist, you constantly have production companies asking for these characters to be designed to have eyes and mouths so that the audience can connect with them. That's why when you have these talking bug creatures and monsters, they still have eyes and mouths. You rarely have character designs these days in movies where a character with a talking role is designed to not have a mouth and/or eyes.

It's not as if they aren't aware of Ultron's comic look. They know the source material and his look was changed for obvious reasons. Joss has said that they wanted to show James performance rather than just have his voice coming out of a speaker box on Ultron.

It's also creepy as hell... Technology should never be able to come close to being human like that :lol it's just wrong
