It makes sense that once he's self aware, he'd evolve to this idealized human form.

Chillllll.

He's going to look like Arnie then.

This. As a concept artist, you constantly have production companies asking for these characters to be designed to have eyes and mouths so that the audience can connect with them. That's why when you have these talking bug creatures and monsters, they still have eyes and mouths. You rarely have character designs these days in movies where a character with a talking role is designed to not have a mouth and/or eyes.

It's not as if they aren't aware of Ultron's comic look. They know the source material and his look was changed for obvious reasons. Joss has said that they wanted to show James performance rather than just have his voice coming out of a speaker box on Ultron.

I actually learned this in English class at the college. Same as writing, if you connect with the audience at a more emotional level, the better

Ultron already had eyes and a mouth, that's not the issue, it's just that I was expecting a more robotic face, you know? Like the iron giant, he didn't need blatant human expressions to connect with the audience.

I'm still sure Ultron will be a great villain, just my 1st impression was "waaaah"?

Terminators need teeth. Ultron doesn't, but I don't care because by the end it'll have a cgi "human" face like the TX.

Or they'll just throw him into a vat of molten metal as he gives us a final thumb up.

I think this teaser gives us (those that appreciate fun comic movies), what we were hoping for. We get to see three forms of ultron. I guarantee that the first form will be a sideshow exclusive and be worth a ton down the road. We will probably get 5 different ultrons plus a drone. Those drones look just like the one from the magazine a few months back. That's my favorite look so far. The one with teeth may be his 2nd to last upgrade. Though that's not my favorite look, it's actually really creepy and menacing.

The clips from the teaser leave many questions, which is what marvel wanted to do. I'm totally pumped and got chills seeing that death scene where thor is motionless and caps shield is broken. Going to definitely be more mature than AV1

The only thing I didn't like were the dutch angles (c'mon, after the great shots in Winter Soldier, I thought we were past this), and the shots of military/police/innocent bystanders in danger. Looked just like the first one, especially the "TANK POV WHILE DRIVING" shot. Also the "standing pose" that Black Widow seems to do in these Avengers trailers.

The dutch angle of Cap running from the car looked sweet but otherwise yep, a lot of the generic crowd/footsoldier/vehicle shots looked like leftovers from A1.

Everything else looks good. Ultron seems like a great villain, Cap's suit doesn't suck, nice visuals, etc.

Yes, yes, and yes.

It'd be cool if Ultron initially strives to be more human then decides humanity isn't worth it. Then he could shed the human characteristics from his appearance and go full-on Marvel comic book Ultron.
