Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

That's the chic from the new Total Recall isn't it? Would love to see her play BW as she's actually believable as a fighter.

Rather than re-casting, I rather they use different characters. The Marvel Universe is huge and there are plenty of characters who have been Avengers, aren't there? Obviously you would need some of the more popular characters like Cap, Iron Man and Thor -- but Hawkeye and Widow can easily be replaced by other characters who are far more interesting.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

It wouldn't surprise me if Marvel recasted them all.

Dumb move on their part. Cheap bastards. I can understand some of them wanting a bit more pay, but RDJ, just because he made a ton of money on the first one, has to realize that it doesn't mean he gets a raise or even that he gets the same amount of money for the second.

As much as I love RDJ's Iron Man, IF I was tightwad Marvel, he's the one I'd sit out.

I'd hate to see any of them recast or gone.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Letting him go would kinda send the message to the others that they aren't irreplacable and can be let go easily if they demand too much money

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Man, does RDJ needs that much money? I find it a little messed up that the guy is already a multimillionaire and has his life back in the spotlight thanks to these movies and yet he want's a pay increase. Maybe I'm little naive, but if I was in his position I'd take something as "low" as 5 million and do the movies just for the fun of it. These movies are nothing more than just a big PR event for him anyway.

I guess if you think about the amount of money they make because of him, it seems like it is only fair? :dunno

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

It's a double edge sword.

Studios will always search for the lowest paid actor they can make the most money from.

Studios fantasize of an actor being as well loved as RDJ but asking for the minimum pay.

But reality is they need to deal with a RDJ.

Actors on the other hand first pray for an opportunity to be discovered (especially for what's popular for the masses) then to be in a position like RDJ, but reality for them is that this is very rare.

At the end of the day, never feel sorry for the studios.

The amount of actors that can get away with what RDJ is getting away with compared to those that just survive is so low that it's almost impossible to give it a percentage.

Studios will always come out on top, unless you make crap like Wolverine Origins or hire Nova to run your studio. :lol

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

I dont think RDJ is holding out for more money, i think its all smoke, im shure hes looking for the best deal, and why wouldnt he? He is the star of the MCU, He IS Tony Stark, and beloved by fans all around, i think he likes to play it up. In terms of just doing it for the love of the movie, yeah i think that should be done, but when you sign one of these contracts for atleast 3 films, you realize that can go for 10 years, and lots of hard work.

As much as i dont want them all to be recast, i think it be pretty interesting to see how it played out.

Re: The Avengers 2 (May 1st, 2015)

Regular folks don't understand the sacrifice to family that is required with these multi year contracts.

Yeah, must be though.

I feel bad just thinking if it was MY family having to make sacrifices by traveling with me to where the movies are shooting, staying at the best hotels in the world, attending to great parties, meeting famous actors and directors all while watching me make millions of dollars.

:wink1:

Again, that's for the big stars like RDJ.

How many in hollywood are like RDJ compared to those that can't take family at the expense of the studios.

It's a great career if you have no wife, kids and hate your family. :lol
