I'm glad that Thanos should just be irredeemably evil and not misunderstood or troubled because his daddy didn't pay attention to him or whatever.
In the comics though, his whole obsession with the Infinity Gauntlet was based out of his romantic love for an anthropomorphic incarnation of death.

This is the currently running series, which I am quite enjoying.

I've been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and he uses this pretty often in that show, and he also did it in Firefly. He loves to have the bad guy giving an ominous speech at the end, "you'll never be able to rest, because I will pursue you to the ends of the earth!" etc., then bad guy gets killed in comedic fashion :D I love it, and I hope it happens to Ultron!

I would start at the beginning. Folks may assume that the older stuff is more quaint and less sophisticated than more modern comics, and that's true to some extent, but just because they weren't "dark and gritty" doesn't mean they weren't smart, fun, and good. The themes are usually just as relevant today as they were in the early '60s. Marvel's stuff from Stan Lee in the early days was quite good, and Spider-Man was probably the best of the bunch, followed by Fantastic Four IMO. Ditko's art was also really nice to look at.

I would go for this if you can find a version for $20 or less:

Amazon.com: Amazing Spider-Man, Vol. 1 (Marvel Masterworks) eBook: Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko: Kindle Store

The period following Ditko's run was still written by Lee for awhile, but drawn by John Romita, who probably developed the most definitive Spidey in my eyes. If you don't want to go through the entire story of Spider-Man, this looks like it is a nice overview of his work:

Amazon.com: Spider-Man: Visionaries (Marvel Visionaries) (9780785107941): Stan Lee, John Romita: Books

A lot of folks think of this as one of the best Spidey stories out there, and it is great, but very dark (and of course, you're familiar with the writer ;) ). Art by iconic GI Joe cover artist Mike Zeck:

Amazon.com: Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt (9780785134503): J. M. DeMatteis, Mike Zeck: Books

Here is another iconic, extremely dark, more modern Spider-Man story:

Spider-Man: The Death of Jean DeWolff: Peter David, Rich Buckler, Sal Buscema: 9780785167143: Amazon.com: Books

Thanks!

I didn't know that Thanos, Deadpool & Death were in a love triangle when I found this pic. :lol

I always thought his motives were dumb, he should kill for money. :lol

Ok ok fine, for sport.

But to kill for Gal Gadot, damn, he really likes them skinny.

Interesting news here, there is an article about Captain America: Civil War and this tidbit came up:

This being a Marvel movie, the two screenwriters were of course tight-lipped on any truly juicy details, but they noted that it will be interesting to bring Chadwick Boseman in as the Black Panther. According to Marvel, Civil War will mark the debut of the Black Panther in costume, and McFeely is excited at the casting for the character

So...one could/would assume that this film may have T'Challa in it even as a brief cameo? Other than Civil War, what MCU film is coming out after AoU?

I'd love to see BP at the end of AoU. :rock

Oh yeah, but given Ant-Man is primarily on the West Coast I guess it'd be a better assumption that he'd appear in AoU

I'd love to see BP at the end of AoU. :rock

Remember we had that girl derobing in the trailer, it's possible that comes from the scene where he shows up.

Let him be in full costume. Show Fox studios that it's ok to allow their heroes to wear their costumes.

Well eventually in full costume. In CW looks like he will be but in AoU if he is there he'll be civilian.

Here are some great new spoilers from the movie.

It's all falling into place now... some theories have been confirmed, mainly that Hulk is indeed being controlled by scarlet which and that Iron Man will have 3 armors in this movie (Mark 43, Mark 44/Hulkbuster and Mark 45).

Can't wait! :panic:

A mere 3 armors? Howard Chan must be disgusted......wait...how many different casual outfits will Tony Stark wear?

I was wondering if Ant Man and something about Jan in this. I just read that Wheddon had written in Ant Man and Wasp for The Avengers, but it ended up being too many characters. Also that it was originally 4+ hours long. Hopefully they get mentioned for the very least. I mean Thor got a minor mention in IM2 at least.
