Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

So let me get this straight after Marvel released the CM trailer on monday and are set to release the IW2 trailer this Friday they are now planning on releasing the Spiderman FFH trailer on Saturday!!!

Marvel has balls of steel lol

Holy crap I just bursted out a lol soooo freaking loud my wife jumped lol

God did say “On the 7th day Disney rests”

I swear if Disney releases the IX trailer in december they officially hate WB with a passion.

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

You know it all kind of makes sense.

There’s a perfect balance at play here.

Think about it.

WB remains KING of the non connected superhero cinema landscape.

Superman 78, Batman 89, BB, TDK.

Which leaves Marvel as KING of the shared universe landscape with the MCU.

Simple.

Sorry Logan lol

:lol

Poor Fox. So many times in the last 40 years it managed to stave off bankruptcy.... but it finally lost to a mouse.

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

If Fox would of embraced the xmen and FF instead of trying to make them more realistic and wear dark colors then they’d have a franchise but they suck since after Logan but tbh even there best xmen movies could of been better. To much wolverine focus

Yup Fox could’ve had their own MCU but nope.

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

Fox will forever be synonymous with the OT opening and Nakatomi plaza.

True! And that's a lot.

Also Alien and Predator. But then Alien vs. Predator... so that's kind of a wash.

Star Wars never feels right to me without the Fox fanfare in the beginning.

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

Fanfare that’s the word I was looking for lol

The reason I included Die Hard and not Alien/Predator is because Nakatomi is a real recognizable location.

SW is SW nuff said lol

No joke, I fell asleep watching one of them on cable years ago.

The coolest use of the Fox fanfare outside of SW was definitely Alien 3 IMO with the way the music went all freaky at the end. Next was Edward Scissorhands with the snow falling on the logo (which Home Alone later copied IIRC.)

Well hold on chaps. I don't think Fox are getting enough credit here. They did have a franchise in X-men and it has lasted from, what, 2000 all the way up to present with that Phoenix movie, whenever it's coming out. That's almost 20 years. The MCU has only been going for 10.

Can they be blamed for not realizing that they could have linked up their Fantastic Four license with X-men in the days before the MCU made the shared cinematic universe a thing?

Yep. Love that. I won't listen to Agnus Dei without it.

Not too much longer before we get our first glimpse of the post-Infinity War MCU. I think I'm most excited about seeing Thanos again. He was my favourite character in IW and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him in action once more.

I know there's a feeling that he's going to get his arse well and truly kicked in this flick, particularly with the arrival of Captain Monotone (sorry)...and that may very well be the case. But I doubt the Russos & Marvel will let him go out like a punk.

Fox's X-Men universe may have been around longer, but overally has had less entry and been less lucrative, and riddled with continuity and time line issues and changes. Marvel had it right all along, a planned cinematic Universe, every entry was designed to build off each other and carry on, it was crafted almost like episodes in a TV series, where most others trying similar make a film, see how it does, then decide on a sequel if it did well enough, they don't have this big plan that they're executing as each next step arrives, where Marvel basically said, after Hulk and Iron an, if this works, we're going for it, and they made those films such that, if they didn't take off and ended up stand alone, they work, and if they become the start of something, they work.
