Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Hasn’t he been pushing for the movie to be made since 2009?

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

The online prehate for Avatar was Legendary. No one expected that movie to make almost 3 Billion Dollars.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Not to mention the people who loved the movie at the time and became depressed. The movie was a weird phase in everyone’s lives. I have no idea what I saw in it

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

When I first joined I loved the movie and defended it on here from other people. That was yrs ago. Not sure if anyone remembers. The forum of course was divided about the movie.

Can't see anything ever beating Avatar's BO tbh. Let's not forget it was still playing in cinemas and collecting $$$ as late as August 2010, almost a full year after it released.

As a pop culture franchise, however, it has failed to leave any meaningful footprint in its wake aside from being known as the film with the blue alien chick that grossed 2 billion at a time when new cinema technology (3D) was ushering.

Ask random people to name 3 characters from Avatar and see how far you get. Go to your local toy store and try and find some toys and merchandise. Now do the exact same for SW and Avengers.

It's a one and done IP and its pointless 5 sequels will flop. I don't understand Cameron's idea to turn this into a big franchise when there's barely any interest in it. Just give us a great Terminator film since 1991 for god's sake.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (April 27, 2018)

Pre-hate has become part of Jim Cameron's brand. Titanic was greatly delayed and it was anticipated to be the next Ishtar (which as an Old Testament word for flop).

I never understood the love for Avatar. Saw it once when it came out and thought it was boring af.

Jeez even Hawkeye’s secrecy has become publicly gold for Marvel.

Poor WB lol

Not so much AntMan because he’s got his film this year but Hawkeye’s whereabouts has elevated the character into popularity!

Avengers: Infinity War' Is Structured As A Standalone Movie

By Matthew Mueller - March 16, 2018

Avengers 4 was originally titled Infinity War part 2, but that's all changed, and now Infinity War will not simply be an opening chapter.

The new film is taking on quite a bit story wise when it comes the insanely beloved Infinity Gauntlet saga from the comics, but Infinity War co-director Joe Russo wants fans to know this will not be a two-parter cut in half scenario.

"In the way that all Marvel movies sit as a stand-alone this one's a stand-alone," Russo told Fandango. "You know there's an experiment in serialized storytelling, so it certainly adds a correlation to the Avengers' story, but it's written in a way that all the Marvel movies have a correlation to each other. One thing that we set out from the beginning and said that we wanted to do from the beginning, was that we'd been disappointed about times we've sat in part one of part two films and it feels like they just took out a pair of scissors and cut the movie in half. And the first film isn't really structured in a way where there's a beginning, middle, and an end. It feels more set up like a first act and half of a second act for the second movie."

While certain aspects of the story and characters will carry over from one film to the next (like the Infinity Stones for instance), Infinity War won't feel like a prelude to another movie, but a whole film in itself.

"Avengers 3 has a beginning, middle, and a very definitive end and Avengers 4 does the same," Russo said. "Of course, there will be elements that carry over — and elements of the [Avengers] story that carry over, but I think you'll have a complete emotional experience in each film."

BTW there's a fan theory that we don't see Hawkeye because he's helping Fury find Wonder Woman I mean Captain Marvel who has the Soul Stone. For me I hope not. I thought Hawkeye's family would be taken or something.

Renner has said he's happy with his arc so maybe if he is with Fury he's IW's cameo.

I've still enjoyed Avatar whenever I've watched it. I've probably seen it about 5 or 6 times. But even I'm not particularly excited about sequels to it. I'm not aware of anyone who is at this point.
