I don't get it. What's wrong with the magnet heads? Never had a figure with one that I can think of but the idea seems nearly flawless.

Why the distaste for them?

I'm sure the impact will vary depending on the figure. My opinion is based on DX19 Batman. There are some head positions where either the the magnetism is weaker, or gravity factoring in too much, but the head slips out of place.

Now, I'm also a toy photographer and working to get photos and trying varieties of poses, so I may also feel the "problem" more than other people. It can be frustrating to spend time working out a pose, have it all set, go to the camera to snap it and find the head has drooped out of position.

So far, my only figure with this new system is the Kenobi series Obi-Wan, and I'm quite happy with the posability of it as well as the sturdiness, so if I had to choose magnet or this, my vote is the new way.

The likeness is definitely there. I can see Ray park. The robe is such a nice improvement as well. Im not sure if the head peg is an improvement over the prior magnetic ball joint? Certainly a great figure all around.
Either way, I had to cancel due to overspending. Thanks for posting the video!

(aside from Wor picking up his figs by the head lol)
Just personal preference. Like all things in mass production, there are varying degrees of consistency- I just prefer compression fitting or something similar (that’s what she said).

My Kerberos figure and maul 1.0 just weren’t strong enough for my liking - and the Inart wrists are another example although maybe for different reasons. Anyway, to each their own.

And for the sake of Wor Gar’s figures

I'm a bit gutted that it doesn't have a magnet head. The magnet on my DX18 Maul is excellent and it's so easy to repose the head and eyes because of it.
magnetic heads can be weak and easily moved at the slightest movement of the figure. The head peg on this Maul is sturdy and allows for the same movement as a magnetic peg, only just have to be carefully putting the head on.
